The Mole season aired its final two episodes on Friday, July 11, 2024. During episodes 9 and 10, the remaining contestants continued on their journey in the game of deceit until only one player remained.
In episode 10, the remaining three players, Muna, Sean, and Michael competed in yet another task, which helped them raise the pot to $154,000. The three contestants participated in the elimination quiz one last time and as revealed by Ari Shapiro, only two answers separated the winner from the runner-up.
As the entire season 2 gathered, the host revealed the winner to be Michael. While Muna was the first runner-up, Sean on the other hand was revealed to be the ultimate saboteur.
About winning season 2, Michael said in a confessional:
"I'm literally speechless. I just won The Mole, season 2. $154,000. I cannot believe it."
Michael reveals how The Mole season 2 winnings would change his life
In The Mole season 2 episode 10, Ari Shapiro invited the final three contestants to join him for one final dinner where he asked them what it meant for them to win the Netflix reality show. He asked them which was more important — the money or being the championship of the show.
Muna shared her thoughts on the same and said that she was the same age as her mother when she fled from her country and came to America by herself. The season 2 contestant added that her mother sacrificed so much for Muna and her sisters so they could have the opportunities she didn't.
"And so getting this money to give back to my mother, I mean, there's no amount of words," Muna said.
The host then asked Michael why winning The Mole season 2 was important to him and the player noted that he didn't put his life on hold by coming to Mayalsia while so much happening to "not come home a winner." He added that the money would "100%" help him and his family in the future.
"It will be able to pay off my school loans, be able to put money down on a house. I wanna do something nice for my father, who's done things for me my whole life after my mom passed away," Michael added.
He added that he was "so lucky to be a gay man" who had a family supporting him and with The Mole season 2 winnings, he would like to do something for himself and his family.
Sean, who was later revealed as the saboteur also chimed in on what he would do with the money. He said he retired from law enforcement so his wife would become a dental hygienist. The season 2 contestant got emotional and said that his wife had been the sole breadwinner since he retired.
"So for me to win this, it goes towards her student loans, my son Jordon's student loans, and it can validate me as a father, a husband that can still provide even though I'm not working anymore," Sean added.
The Mole season 2 contestant Muna was surprised by her competitors' stories and said Sean sounded "just as hungry" as she did to win the show. She added that it was a "big problem" because he was her top suspect.
Sean, Michael, and Muna participated in their final quiz containing 20 questions, which determined their fate. When the entire cast gathered, Ari Shapiro first asked the Mole to reveal himself, and the cast was shocked to find out it was Sean. The host then revealed that between Muna and Michael, just two questions set them apart and Michael was revealed to be the winner and the recipient of $154,000.
Episodes of The Mole season 2 are available to stream on Netflix.
