The Real Housewives of Dubai has been reportedly put on hold after two seasons. According to an exclusive report by US Weekly dated November 7, 2024, the cast has already been informed about it a few days ago, as per a close source.
Bravo has not commented on the show's future yet. This pause may follow similar fates for Summer House: Martha's Vineyard and Winter House. However, it might not result in a conclusion of RHOD, as The Real Housewives of Miami was revived in 2021 after an eight-year hiatus.
The Real Housewives of Dubai, the first international iteration of the franchise, featured Chanel Ayan, Sara Al Madani, Caroline Brooks, Lesa Milan, and Caroline Stanbury. Season 2 aired its finale on September 3, 2024, and the reunion was released on September 10 at 9 pm ET/PT.
On October 23, 2024, Caroline Brooks addressed the situation on X in which she debunked the online reports that claimed that the show was being put on hold and asked the fans to "calm down."
After the US Weekly report, Caroline Brooks confirmed her stance as she again took to X on November 8, 2024 and wrote:
"This aged well... #RHODubai. Ladies, don’t debunk things and make false announcements to mislead people. Girls speaking about “shakeups” and all of the debunking, was.. well.. interesting to watch on my timeline. I TOLD YOU."
What happened during the two seasons of The Real Housewives of Dubai?
Nina Ali departed after season 1 but made a brief guest appearance in season 2. The second installment introduced new cast members, including Taleen Marie and Saba Yussouf. The show premiered in June 2022 and was renewed for a second season, which aired in June 2023.
Fans witnessed Ayan and Stanbury's transformation from rivals to friends. Their argument in season 1 gave way to a close bond, formed over shared family experiences. Ayan and Stanbury, both mothers, felt connected over their children and family values.
Ayan and Stanbury's newfound friendship, however, created tension with Milan. Milan expressed surprise and skepticism about the duo's sudden closeness. Despite this, Ayan expressed happiness about her relationship with Stanbury, joking that their past drama died with Stanbury's facelift.
What happened in the season 2 reunion episode of The Real Housewives of Dubai?
The Real Housewives of Dubai's season 2 reunion addressed the tangled relationships and conflicts that unfolded throughout the season. Lesa Milan and Chanel Ayan's fractured friendship was a central focus, with Lesa blaming Caroline Stanbury for driving a wedge between them.
The reunion delved into the tension that began when Stanbury and Taleen Marie suggested Ayan acted differently around Lesa. The heated argument between Lesa and Ayan was rehashed, with both women shedding tears and expressing hurt feelings.
Stanbury's personal life was also discussed, particularly allegations of having a sugar daddy. Caroline Brooks' claims that Stanbury's friend, Michael Davis, financially supported her lifestyle were met with denial from Stanbury. Davis, CEO of NMC Healthcare, had allegedly told Brooks that he covered Stanbury's expenses, including those of her husband, Sergio Carrallo.
Sara Al Madani's revelation about Brooks' love life added more drama to the mix. Brooks' reference to a suitor as Shrek due to his appearance sparked laughter and raised eyebrows.
"In Bali, you were talking about Shrek saying this is your sugar daddy," Sara shared during the reunion.
The reunion provided closure on the cast's complex dynamics, but not before intense confrontations and emotional outbursts. The cast members faced tough questions from host Andy Cohen, leading to some surprising revelations.
In the end, the reunion wrapped up the season's storylines, but the aftermath will likely have lasting effects on the cast's relationships.
Fans of The Real Housewives of Dubai hope that the next installment will be released sooner rather than later.
