How did episode 1 of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 5 unfold?
Episode 1 of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 5 started at the Valentine’s party thrown by Lisa Barlow for the other housewives of the show. The housewives made their entry one by one, adding the glamour and drama as they arrived.
The episode also witnessed some moments of flashback. Lisa pondered over the fiasco that took place in season 4 where they confronted Monica. She said:
“Last year wasn’t the easiest. There was so much turmoil with my friends. It’s not the first time we’ve gone through it, but it’s the worst time we’ve gone through it. I think that brings all of us so close together.”
As the party went on, in a flashback Lisa told Heather and Angie, that she was upset with Whitney but she still called her to the party. Lisa mentioned that Whitney was rude about her on a podcast. The podcast that Lisa mentioned was hosted by Nick Viall on February 1, 2024. Whitney told the host:
“She doesn’t care about anything else other than being right. Lisa’s always been the villain!”
On the other hand, Heather and Mary started the season of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, on the right note, and Mary appreciated how Heather looked. Heather seemed happy about the new phase of their friendship, and also about her weight loss transformation. She said in a confessional:
‘I finally cracked the code. I lost 25 pounds, and now Mary Cosby loves me.”
Heather added jokingly:
“I’ve gone from ‘inbred, to pretty and thin. This is the start of a beautiful relationship.”
The premiere of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City also beholded a a huge argument scene between Meredith and Whitney, as Meredith claimed that Whitney was constantly trying to encroach over her business ideas.
Meredith approached Whitney to ask her questions about her 'Bath Bombs' business, which was Merdith's territory too. She asked Whitney what was wrong with her, and why is she doing this. Whitney said:
"I have no problem with you. You’re reading way too much into this.”
Whitney added during a confessional:
“I am genuinely concerned that Meredith is spending too much time in the bathtub … I think everything is starting to shrivel up and prune, including her brain.”
Later on, the housewives join each other at the dinner table, which initially hints at a peace agreement between the housewives. But soon a bickering broke out between Whitney and Lisa regarding the podcast that Whitney did. Lisa called Whitney a liar. She threw her glass on the floor and said:
"I will be your villain, b***h! Game on. You want me to be your villain, I’ll be your villain.”
Heather further accused Whitney of lying about not giving her approval for Heather's book, while Meredith added that Whitney accused her of lying about her father’s memorial.
She also brought up Whitney accusing Mary of running a cult and other things. Whitney defended herself by saying that she had already apologized for what happened in the past and eventually walked out.
