Kandy Muse, known for her appearances on RuPaul's Drag Race season 13 and All Stars season 8, entered the House of Villains arena with high expectations. The show, which pits reality TV stars against each other in a competition of cunning and strategy, saw Kandy eliminated in episode 8, just before the finale.
After her departure, Kandy expressed that she should have been the winner. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly on December 12, she shared her thoughts on the strategies that led to her elimination, her evolving role as a "villain," and the emotional impact of her exit. Kandy emphasized her conviction that her elimination was unjust, asserting:
“I should have been the winner. But I think sometimes it's best to leave as the robbed queen.”

Kandy’s strategic gameplay leading to her exit
Throughout her time on House of Villains, Kandy Muse formed strong connections with the eliminated players, understanding that they would eventually vote for the winner. She highlighted that her strategy involved staying in contact with these eliminated contestants to build rapport. She believed it would help secure her victory if she reached the finale.
"One of the reasons why I was eliminated was because Wes got in Jessie’s ear," Kandy explained.
Kandy also discussed the tactical use of overhearing conversations in the house, which became a factor in her elimination. She noted that Wes would listen in on conversations without the contestants realizing it.
"The walls in the House of Villains house are very thin...I can be in my room having a conversation, and Wes can be around the corner listening to me." Kandy said.
She explained that this strategy, commonly associated with competitive reality shows, played a significant role in the dynamics leading to her elimination.
The impact of betrayal on Kandy’s elimination
Kandy’s elimination came after Jessie, whom she considered a friend, voted against her, despite previously assuring her that he would not do so. Kandy highlighted the emotional impact of Jessie’s betrayal, stating:
"I was genuinely hurt because we were honestly really good friends."
She underscored that she did not expect to be betrayed, given their friendship and his prior assurances. Reflecting on the elimination ceremony, Kandy mentioned that she regretted not leaving the house on her terms rather than waiting for someone to eliminate her.
"I really regret not just leaving by myself, because I shouldn't have given anyone the satisfaction of pressing a button and sending me home," she stated.
She acknowledged that she was aware the vote would be unanimous, but at the time, she had hoped her emotional appeal might sway the decision.
Kandy Muse's evolution into a "Villain" persona
Throughout the competition, Kandy exhibited traits that contributed to her growing reputation as a "villain." She engaged in intense confrontations, such as during a nominations ceremony when she and New York confronted Jessie. Kandy described the moments during this ceremony, saying:
""You work out to make up for the balls you don’t have," while New York called Jessie a chicken fetus.
She explained that these interactions were a natural response to Jessie’s decision to nominate them and the tension within the house.
In a previous interview, Kandy had stated that she did not consider herself a villain. However, she later clarified her stance in the Entertainment Weekly interview, saying:
"I don’t think that any of the people that were in season 2 were mean people."
She emphasized that the contestants were misunderstood, strong-willed individuals who made for good television. After participating in House of Villains, she came to accept and embrace the "villain" label.
"After now being on House of Villains, I absolutely take the title of being a villain, and I love it," she stated.
Kandy’s reflections on House of Villains after her departure
Following her elimination, Kandy expressed support for New York, stating that she felt New York should win the competition. She stated:
"I think I speak for everyone when I say New York."
Furthermore, she added that despite the competitive nature of the show, she still held a sense of camaraderie with the contestants. Kandy noted:
"We can all hate each other in the house, but after the show wrapped and finished, it was one of those things of what happened in the house, happened in the house," she noted.
She emphasized that there was no bad blood and that the experience had been enjoyable overall.
