A thrilling new adventure series is set to captivate audiences this fall as The Summit makes its debut. This competition series brings together 16 strangers who must traverse the rugged terrain of the New Zealand Alps, all vying for a share of a million-dollar prize.
The show premieres on Sunday, September 29, at 9 pm ET/PT on CBS. It will follow up with second episode in its regular time slot on Wednesday, October 16, at 9:30 pm ET/PT, immediately after a new episode of Survivor season 47.

The Summit premieres on September 29: Streaming options explored
As mentioned earlier, The Summit will release its first episode on September 29, 2024 on CBS. For those who do not have access to traditional cable or satellite television, the show can be viewed through various live streaming services such as Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, and YouTube TV.
Additionally, Paramount Plus with Showtime subscribers and users of the CBS app can watch episodes live as they air. Paramount Plus Essential subscribers can stream new episodes the next day of their actual broadcast.
The Summit premise
The Summit follows the journey of sixteen strangers as they embark on a challenging expedition through the New Zealand Alps. The contestants start their adventure with backpacks containing an equal share of $1 million. The group must traverse a significant distance in just 14 days to reach the summit and claim the cash they are carrying.
Along the way, they will face perilous terrain, harsh Antarctic winds, intense physical challenges, and emotional eliminations. The journey is overseen by the "Mountain’s Keeper," who introduces unexpected twists and difficult decision, such as which team members to leave behind.
The participants' morals and relationships are put to the test as they must decide how to handle those who fall behind. If the group fails to reach the peak within the designated time, they risk losing all the prize money.
Manu Bennett as the host of The Summit
Manu Bennett, known for his roles on both television and film, will host The Summit. Bennett is familiar to many viewers for the potrayal of popular characters like Deathstroke/Slade Wilson in Arrow and Crixus in Spartacus. He also appeared as Azog the Defiler in The Hobbit trilogy.
