"The thirst is real" — The Real Housewives of New Jersey fans react to Kathy's appearance on Watch What Happens Live

The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Kathy Wakile made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday, July 14, alongside Jennifer Aydin. As fans of the show may recall, Kathy, the first cousin to Teresa and Joe Gorga, isn't on speaking terms with them or Melissa.

While in a conversation with Andy, Kathy spoke about the house she bought near Melissa's property. This came after Melissa revealed the news in June on Sirius XM's Jeff Lewis Live on Radio Andy. She said while she still didn't talk to Kathy, she wanted her husband to speak to her because she was his first cousin.

Referring to what Melissa said on the Jeff Lewis, Jennifer asked Kathy what she thought about Melissa wanting to "get back together." Kathy said it was "very convenient" for Melissa to get back with her. That was because now Melissa had severed ties with Teresa as well.

Fans of the show took to social media to react to this moment and also began to speculate if Kathy was set to make a comeback on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. One fan said:

"I love that Kathy Wakile (@kathywakile) sees right through Mellisa’s thirsty attempt at reconciling now that Teresa wants NOTHING to do with her and her husband. ‘Convenience’ is spot on".

Some fans guessed this might be a hint at Kathy returning to RHONJ. One fan wrote:

"Is this Bravo’s way of feeling out adding Kathy back to #RHONJ? If it would mean getting rid of Melissa and Joe, please god yes!".

"Kathy wakile walking out on wwhl just shook me. get her and caroline manzo back on the show now!" said another tweet.

"Melissa mentions Kathy is building a house on her street and then suddenly a couple weeks later Kathy shows up on #WWHL?" said another.

What did The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa say about Kathy Wakile on Jeff Lewis' podcast?

Kathy Wakile's mother was the sister to The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Gorga's father, which made Kathy the first cousin to Teresa and Joe. She was among the main cast members of The Real Housewives of New Jersey from season 3 to season 5 of the show. She made a guest appearance in season 2 and showed up as a friend in seasons 6 and 7.

While the exact reason for their separation is unknown, Kathy alluded to what might've gone down between them, in an interview with Life After Bravo in 2021. She said:

"A funny thing happens with reality TV — it's a small blurb, it's a small part in your life, and you live your life, and whatever gets aired, it gets aired, and you're still living your life. But for certain people — people live in that bubble — and they don't realize that there is a whole world outside of the bubble".

In the June Sirius XM's Jeff Lewis Live on Radio Andy, Melissa was asked if she would ever reconcile with Kathy since she was coming to stay across the street from her. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star said:

"I secretly hope Joe and Kathy are like, walking down the street one day, and like, bump into each other. Because at the end of the day, Kathy's a good person".

She also said that her husband enjoyed Kathy and that she was someone who took care of him. She confirmed that even Joe wanted the same deep down inside.
