The Traitors is back for its third season with all more intrigue, suspense, and competition promised for its Peacock series. A program about contestants, these individuals will participate in a series of missions while trying to discover which among them are the hidden "Traitors."

These Traitors attempt to get the "Faithful" eliminated so they may leave with the $250,000 in cash to themselves, as the Faithful(s) try to identify and send the Traitors packing before nightfall sees them "murdered." Adding mystery and subterfuge to its formula, the show will be headed into season 3 when it premieres on Peacock on January 9, 2025.

Peacock has announced that season 3 will premiere on January 9, 2025. Host Alan Cumming confirmed the date during a Halloween segment on TODAY on October 31 with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, where he made the announcement dressed in a costume.

Cumming hinted that the days ahead would bring intense moments for the viewers. Promising a dramatic return to the Scottish Highlands, he described the upcoming installment as:

"Brutal...I thought I was going to have to break up a fight [at a Roundtable]. It's got lots of peaks and troughs. It's not all like that but oh my gosh, yeah, it's a lot."

With the series having continued to be developed by Peacock, upcoming seasons 4 and 5 are confirmed to be in production.


Who will star in The Traitors season 3

The third season features 21 familiar faces from the reality landscape. Among these reality TV members is a bunch of fan-favorite and seasoned reality stars. Apart from these include Bravo's Tom Sandoval, Chanel Ayan, Dolores Catania, Survivor veteran Jeremy Collins, Carolyn Wiger, Rob Mariano, and Tony Vlachos.

Notable names of the cast include host of Biggest Loser, Bob Harper; winner of RuPaul's Drag Race, Bob the Drag Queen; and reality star, Nikki Garcia. Big Brother contestants are part of the lineup with very different backgrounds and gameplay. Fans will get to see a group of contestants from The Real Housewives, Bachelor in Paradise, and Summer House.

Alan Cumming has teased a season packed with "twists" and "unexpected turns," indicating that season 3 may bring more surprises than the previous installments. He mentioned that the new installment will include several thematic elements and challenges, hinting that even his attire will be matched to the daily missions.

Cumming also hinted that some elements are distinct from the first two seasons, with new approaches to the traditional gameplay. In a statement shared with TV Insider on October 31, Cumming remarked on the unique twists of the upcoming season, which he described as having a "different" yet compelling quality compared to earlier seasons.

He shared that while viewers can expect the usual tension and strategy, the new season will also showcase some “lovely moments” that diverge from the standard formula.
