The Traitors UK series 3 episode 5 was full of unexpected twists as fans wondered who was the traitor amongst them. For those who don't know, this reality TV competition series is a "psychological competition" in which 22 players reside in a house together.
They are divided into teams of traitors and faithfuls without knowing each other's identity. The traitor's job is to drain the pot money using their tactics.
In episode 5, the majority voted for Tyler to be banished from the house as he revealed he was one of the faithfuls. One player was approached to be recruited by the traitors as no one was murdered.
During this episode's mission, the two team members Leon and Leanne ended up earning an immunity. The contestants also added £5000 to the prize pot money.
The Traitors UK series 3 episode 5 was released exclusively on BBC on January 9, 2025. The episode synopsis reads:
"Hoping to add money to the prize pot, the mission proves to be no laughing matter, leaving the Faithful more determined than ever to catch a Traitor at an emotional Round Table."
What happened in The Traitors UK series 3 episode 5?
In the previous The Traitors UK series 3 episode 4, two new contestants, former British diplomat, Alexander, and community development manager, Fozia joined the cast and claimed to be faithful.
However, for the housemates who have been a part of the series since the beginning, it is suspicious as they keep an eye on the newbies.
As viewers already know, financial investigator, Armani, who was one of the traitors, has exited the show. Since then, the remaining traitors planned on either murder or recruiting in episode 5. Additionally, their main focus was to recruit a swimming teacher, Anna who refused to join them.
The rest of The Traitors UK cast members questioned who had reached out for recruitment and whether a new traitor had already been designated. This happened after they realized no one had been murdered, leaving the only option as recruitment.
In this episode, the main mission was a scary one but as a team, the housemates were able to earn an extra £5,000 for their prize pot money. Apart from this mission being a success, army veteran, Leanne, along with retail store manager, Leon also earned immunity from getting murdered by the traitors.
When it was time for the roundtable discussion, Freddie was a major target as he was questioned about his moves. Later, Tyler was also questioned as he continued to defend himself.
Towards the end of the episode, it was revealed that Tyler was going home after receiving 12 votes as Lisa and Freddie received three and two votes respectively.
The Traitors UK cast member told the show host he was a faithful, he said:
"So faithful you’ve done it again, you’ve managed to banish one of your own. I tell you what, the Traitors are smashing it.”
New episodes of The Traitors UK series 3 are released every week on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 9 pm exclusively on BBC One. All previous episodes are available to catch up on BBC iPlayer.
