The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 couple Venessa and Dave are officially engaged after four years of dating!
Venessa announced the happy news on Instagram on December 21, sharing a series of heartwarming photos from the proposal. The special moment was made even more memorable as the couple was surrounded by their closest friends and family.
"When four years turns into forever," she wrote in the caption of the post.
The couple entered The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On hoping to get a mutual clarity on marriage. The couple left the show after four episodes after Venessa questioned her trial marriage with Nick.
The couple eventually returned during the reunion episode and confirmed that they were still together and were thinking about getting engaged.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On couple Venessa and Dave got engaged a month earlier on November 22
As per The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On couple's bio, Vanessa issued the ultimatum hoping that her partner made her feel like his "dream woman" whom he wanted to start a life with. Meanwhile, Dave wanted to take his time with the decision-making process when it came to marriage.
Seems like the two got what they wanted from each other and it led to their engagement after the show.
Although Venessa and Dave shared their engagement news on December 21, the proposal took place a month earlier, on November 22, 2024.
In an interview with People Magazine, published on December 20, Dave revealed that he popped the question while they were visiting Hattaway's family in Georgia.
"I wanted to do it with all of our family around, and some live in Italy, some live in Georgia, some live in Massachusetts and Miami, so it's really tough to get everybody together, and Thanksgiving was kind of that time, so it just worked out naturally. So we went to Georgia to hang out for a week with some family, and that's where it happened," he explained.
Dave had a lot of things prepared weeks before the proposal. He shared during the interview that he had been secretly hiring musicians and photographers. He was even secretly working with Venessa's mother to organize the surprise engagement.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star recalled that Vanessa's best friend took her out to lunch on the proposal day, which gave him and the family time to set the scene.
When she came back from lunch, Dave shared that his partner was so overwhelmed with joy that she began screaming and sobbing. He described the proposal as a "special day set in a beautifully forested Atlanta suburb, surrounded by the people we care about most."
After Vanessa said yes, their family "sprinted out of hiding and surprised" the couple with "bear hugs."
"Two musicians joined the party and serenaded the group over hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. Vanessa's father prepared a legendary brisket and we ate our way through happy nerves. It was perfect — the brisket and the engagement," he continued.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On couple shared that they were planning on getting married sometime in 2025. They hoped to tie the knot "somewhere exotic" which could also be accessible to their family and friends.
They further mentioned that they had also purchased a house in Southern California.
"After the show, we were in a state of shock," Adams says. "We actually went to Washington state, and went to the middle of nowhere for a week, which was awesome, recovered from that a little bit. And then we saved up over the last few years and bought a house in September," Dave shared.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 episodes are available on Netflix.
