The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 episode 2 recap: Singles reunite with their exes and select their trial partners

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 episode 2 premiered on November 4 on Netflix and showcased the dating week. The recently broken-up contestants had one week to go on multiple dates with other singles and reflect on where their heads were.

During their dates, each contestant reflected on their past relationship and wondered if they wanted to return to their ex or start a new connection with one of the other singles.

After going through multiple dates, the singles gathered for "The Choice" and revealed whom they wanted to share the rest of the experience with.

Vanessa and Nick's date

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 episode 2 kicked off with Nick and Vanessa's date. The two showed interest in one another and bonded over the "quirkiness."

Vanessa shared that her ex-Dave wasn't a fan of her participating in a bodybuilding competition and that she was thinking about leaving it. However, Nick was intrigued by that part of her life and said he would love to support and cheer her.

"I love my ex, Sandy, deeply. But I definitely wasn't expecting to have as deep of a connection with anyone as I have so far with Vanessa. I definitely have more confusion than I had before," Nick said in his confessional after the date.

Dave and Chanel's date

This was followed by Dave's date with Chanel. After exchanging their thoughts about their expectations from a relationship, the two The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On contestants shared their worries about their exes.

Dave expressed that he was overwhelmed by the experience and occasionally considered leaving the show. Chanel chimed in and expressed that she felt the same and added that she would be hurt if her ex got intimate with someone on the show.

"I don't want to be… betrayed, like, I know that you're technically single, but if anybody can take you like that easily after we've been together for two and a half years, almost three... Then I'm like, no, I can't. That's a red flag," she said.

Final dates and evening cocktail party

With just three days remaining before "the choice," episode 2 of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 later showcased the dates between Micah and Mariah, Caleb and Aria, Scotty and Zaina, Aria and J.R., Sandy and J.R.

The contestants also joined in for an evening cocktail party where they played truth or date and reconnected with their former partners. Some ex-couples rekindled their affection for one another, while others openly expressed interest in new singles.

The choice

At the end of the episode, all The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 singles gathered at the round table to make their decision on who they wanted to continue the experiment with.

"Tonight, you will also be chosen. So, if you choose someone who also chooses you, then you'll move in together, and you start your trial marriage," host Vanessa Lachey explained.

Scotty went first and selected Zaina, explaining that he felt truly seen when they spent time together. The latter appreciated his words and chose him as her trial husband. Next, Mariah and Micah, followed by Chanel and Dave, also chose each other, entering their own trial marriages.

The episode ended on a cliffhanger as J.R. was about to make his choice.
