Netflix's The Ultimatum: South Africa aired its reunion special on May 24, 2024. The reunion marked the official wrap of the season as it saw the cast members turn to the show after a year of the social experiment and provided fans with insights about their lives.
One of the big revelations made during the segment was by Khanya and Nkateko, who revealed that they welcomed a baby boy, Q, into the world three months before filming the reunion special. While talking about the baby, Nkateko opened up about losing his father to cancer when he was a child. He said:
"I always wanted a son. When I was a kid, my dad passed away from brain cancer. I was like, six months old, so I never grew up with my dad. So I always had this longing in my heart that I wanted to have a son, so I could love my son the way I wanted my dad to love me."

"I don't know. It's just brought so much joy to my soul, and I'm just so in love with my baby. And I think it's made Nkateko and I a lot closer."
Soon after the reunion special aired, Nkateko took to social media to further open up about his and Khanya's relationship. In an Instagram post, The Ultimatum: South Africa cast member said that they discovered Khanya was pregnant shortly after filming the show in March 2023.

The Ultimatum: South Africa star further said that he watched the show just a day before filming the reunion special, which made the two of them realize that they had "deeper issues" that they needed to address within themselves.
