The grand finale of The Voice Season 26 aired on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Hosted by Carson Daly, the audience witnessed the crowning of Team Michael Bublé's Sofronio Vasquez as the winner in finale part 2.
Among the many highlights of the evening was Shye’s duet with her coach, Michael Bublé. The pair performed the iconic song Something Stupid by Frank Sinatra and Nancy Sinatra.
Additionally, the episode included performances from the top eight contestants, including a group rendition of Defying Gravity from Wicked, and special musical appearances by artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Dan + Shay, and Tears for Fears.
As the night unfolded, viewers eagerly awaited the results, which saw Jeremy Beloate (Team Snoop), Danny Joseph (Team Reba), and Sydney Sterlace (Team Gwen) finishing in fifth, fourth, and third place, respectively. Shye finished as a runner-up to Sofronio Vasquez.
The Voice: Shye and Michael Bublé’s collaboration on Something Stupid
Shye’s duet with Michael Bublé was a notable moment of The Voice finale. The two shared the stage for Something Stupid, a song famously performed by Frank Sinatra and his daughter, Nancy Sinatra. The performance was preceded by a video package featuring Shye and Michael discussing whether Shye’s personality matched her name.
They also shared anecdotes about Shye’s family and her journey on The Voice. During rehearsals, the duo appeared to have fun, with moments of laughter and improvisation. At one point in the live performance, Shye giggled after a minor mistake,
“We just wanted to enjoy the moment,” Michael shared backstage.
Shye’s rendition of Harry Styles’ Falling during the Top 5 performances was praised as her best of the season. The singer expressed her emotions in a pre-finale interview stating,
“Michael has been more than a coach—he’s been a friend and a mentor.”
Michael, in turn, described Shye as “a star in the making” and expressed pride in her growth as an artist.
The Voice season 26 finale part 2 highlights
The finale of The Voice season 26 was packed with performances. The top eight contestants opened the show with a tribute to the musical Wicked, singing a rendition of Defying Gravity. This performance set the tone for the rest of the evening.
Sydney Sterlace of Team Gwen Stefani teamed up with her coach for a rendition of Wild World by Cat Stevens, while Team Snoop’s Jeremy Beloate performed (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay alongside his coach, Snoop Dogg.
Reba McEntire’s duet with Danny Joseph on You Don’t Know Me was well-received. Meanwhile, Sofronio Vasquez and Michael Bublé’s collaboration on Who’s Loving You by The Miracles.
The finale also featured special guest performances. Kelly Clarkson performed her new Christmas song, You for Christmas, during the finale. She concluded the performance with high notes.
The song is part of the deluxe version of her Christmas album, recently released. Tears for Fears closed the show with a medley of Everybody Wants to Rule the World and their new track, The Girl That I Call Home.
Snoop Dogg and Sting teamed up for a performance of their new song, Another Part of Me. The track samples The Police’s classic, Message in a Bottle, and is part of Snoop’s latest album, Missionary, releasing this Friday. After the performance, Snoop said, “I’ve been stung by Sting,” to which Sting replied that he had been "Snooped" by the "Dogg."
