The Voice: What happened in the episode?

The Top 8 contestants of The Voice took to the stage this week, delivering memorable performances. Christina Eagle kicked off the night with an energetic rendition of Shania Twain’s Man! I Feel Like a Woman. Reba McEntire described her delivery as “knocking it out of the park,” while Snoop Dogg called her “Reba reincarnated” for her showmanship.

Jeremy Beloate, also from Team Snoop, chose Tom Jones’ I (Who Have Nothing). Gwen Stefani praised his artistry, saying,

“You’re just rare. It’s almost like you’re too good to sing songs. You have an identity,”

Snoop urged the audience to “quit playin’” and vote for him. Adam Bohanan brought Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On to the stage, with Reba applauding his “infectious joyousness” and Snoop commending his originality.

Danny Joseph chose I Was Wrong by Chris Stapleton, which Reba praised for its dynamic changes during the performance. Gwen described his style as “very cool,” emphasizing his stage presence.

Jan Dan performed Journey’s Open Arms, earning praise from Michael Bublé for his emotional depth and Gwen for his composure. Sydney Sterlace tackled Billie Eilish’s When the Party’s Over, with Gwen noting her ability to evoke emotion and Snoop admitting her performance brought him to tears.

Shye selected Brandi Carlile’s The Joke, delivering an emotional and technically sound performance. Michael likened her voice to legends like Adele, saying she’s “the real deal,” while Reba expressed being “mesmerized” by her tone.

Sofronio Vasquez, a contestant from the Philippines now residing in New York, closed the solo performances by dedicating Elvis Presley’s If I Can Dream to his mother and earning a standing ovation. Michael celebrated his resilience and ability to shine under pressure.

The night also featured epic duets, all performed alongside Sting playing bass. Highlights included Christina and Danny’s lively rendition of If You Love Somebody Set Them Free and Shye and Sydney’s hauntingly beautiful take on Fields of Gold. Their contrasting vocal styles—Shye’s deep alto and Sydney’s high, airy voice—created a unique dynamic.
