Sister Wives season 19 premiered exclusively on TLC on September 15, 2024. It gave a glimpse of the struggling Brown family, consisting of Kody and his current wife Robyn, and ex-wives, Meri, Janelle, and Christine. The upcoming episode 2 titled Let There Be Good will give more insights into the relationship between Kody and Janelle Brown.

In a sneak peek clip released by People Magazine clip for the Sunday episode (September 22), Janelle shared that she and Kody aren't officially divorced despite their relationship ending and her wanting to buy a new house with her daughter, Maddie.

As per the second episode synopsis, Janelle revealed her plans to leave Flagstaff and potentially move to Montana with Maddie. However, the Sister Wives star was unsure about their family property in Flagstaff. In the exclusive clip, Janelle said:

“Kody and I are not in communication. Our relationship is over, but we both still live in Flagstaff. Yeah, there's not been an official divorce. I don't know how to get one, and I don't need one.”

Janelle talks about her and Kody's property in an exclusive Sister Wives clip

In the Sister Wives season 19 episode 2 teaser, Janelle and Maddie discussed their family property which had not been paid off yet. Brown revealed that the Flagstaff home was being shared not just by her but by Meri, Janelle, and Christine as well. Janelle further mentioned that the remaining amount was to be paid within six months or else the seller wouldn't let them purchase the house.

Janelle elaborated:

“So the first two-acre lot right now is Kody and I. The second two-acre lot is Kody and Robyn. The third is a four-acre lot and it's Meri, myself and Kody. And then, the five-acre lot, because Christine quit, claimed it is Kody and Robyn."

The Sister Wives cast member called this family home an "asset" that she should be taking from her marriage since her relationship with Kody had ended. Janelle aimed to start a new chapter by moving to Montana with her daughter Maddie. She stated:

"Robyn's got her house. Christine had her house. Meri has built a business, but she didn't use family money. She built that herself."

However, Janelle was worried and implied that Kody was stalling the payment process. She told Maddie that the seller had reached out to him multiple times but Kody said he had not made a specific plan yet. During her confessional, the Sister Wives star mentioned that Kody was not "taking this more seriously."

Later in the clip, Kody told the cameras that he had stopped giving Janelle updates on the house purchase as she would ask him about the property "all the time." He said he didn't trust Janelle "anymore," which was the reason why he wouldn't give her the information regarding the Flagstoff property. He added that he was "tired" and that the property would be paid off when it's the right time.

Kody explained:

“We will pay off the property when the time comes and I'm not giving you any details about what I'm doing or whatever because I'm tired of disclosing information that goes through the gossip mill of our broken family."

Sister Wives airs exclusively every week on Sundays at 10 pm ET on TLC.
