Below Deck Mediterranean, season 9 episode 16 showcased the drama between Elena Ellie Dubaich, Aesha Scott, and Bri Muller. As fans already know, the new crew addition to the Mustique crew, Carrie O'Neill has caused tension between Aesha and Ellie. During the September 16, 2024 episode, when Aesha appreciated Carrie for her speed while working, Ellie and Bri felt offended.
During the aftershow, Carrie chimed in on the situation. She said that Aesha's comment was "just the truth" as she wanted both Ellie and Bri to work faster. Carrie elaborated that Ellie was taking too much time to complete one task such as "decorating the ship." She could sense that Aesha "felt burnt out" but Ellie and Bri on the other hand, were acting like yatch guests. Talking about their work ethic, she said:
"As soon as I saw that, I looked to the other two. The speed wasn't quite there, and I almost thought they were just there for a holiday more than anything. I didn't see much of a work ethic there with the two of them."
Ellie and Bri defend themselves on the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show
Carrie implied that Aesha wasn't getting much rest and had been doing extra tasks because Ellie and Bri were not "stepping up to the plate." Carrie continued stating that Aesha was giving her best and wanted to wrap up all tasks quickly, which is why she used O'Neill as an example. However, Ellie and Bri were upset that they were told to act like a newbie "who just got here." Carrie said:
"And Aesha, she's good at her job. She wants to give a good service and do a good job. I could see her not taking rests rather than sacrifice the service, 'cause the other two weren't going to, you know, I don't think they were stepping up to the plate, really."
During the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show, Bri said that Aesha was indirectly calling them slow. Bri mentioned that Aesha did get some rest this season. Meanwhile, she and Ellie were always working which is why it was difficult for them to maintain the same pace they had at the start of the season.
Ellie on the other hand, could understand where Aesha was coming from but she didn't like how a new crew member was being used an example when the rest of the crew had been working since the beginning. The Below Deck Mediterranean star told the cameras during her confessional interview:
"That meeting was demoralizing, actually. I know that Aesha was trying to get us to do better, [but] it just kind of crushed our spirits. I mean, you cannot tell crew members who've been busting their ass for the entire charter season that they need to be as fast as someone who's just got here."
Aesha clarified that she had no intentions of "crushing" anyone's "spirit", instead, she only wanted Bri and Ellie to learn Carrie's good trait. Aesha was impressed by Carrie's quick thinking and work ethic, she said:
"If I started the season with Carrie, I don't think I would've been stressed once."
