The highly anticipated second season of Tex Mex Motors premiered on Netflix on November 22, 2024, featuring eight new episodes. The show follows the journey of a unique auto body shop near the US-Mexico border, where a passionate team of car restorers, led by Mike Coy, scour Mexico for vintage vehicles to restore and sell.

With their expertise and dedication, the team embarks on a mission to find and restore hidden gems, they face a daunting challenge: generating a profit of $500,000 before the end of winter. In the premiere episode of season 2, scouts Scooter and Rabbit were tasked by engine specialist Jaime of Borderline Customs garage to get them a new truck within the budget of $25,000.

Scooter and Rabbit previously went to El Paso and exchanged the garage truck, a Chevy C10, with $3,750 cash and a '66 Continental. The two scouts on Tex Mex Motors got the garage a new a $30,000 Ram truck which surprised the whole crew.

However, Jaime was taken aback by the excessive spending, exceeding their allocated budget by $5,000. Her reaction was one of concern, implying that Rabbit and Scooter's actions were financially irresponsible.

"This looks like they're burning money, doesn't it?" Jaime quiped.

Rabbit and Scooter wanted to give away the C10 on Tex Mex Motors as it had an overheating issue

The season premiere of Tex Mex Motors kicked off with Rabbit and Scooter embarking on a thrilling adventure to find a '52 Chevy in Chihuahua, Mexico. Fresh from a successful first season, which yielded a $310,000 profit, the duo was eager to start anew.

Meanwhile, Rabbit and Scooter's excursion took an unexpected turn when their car broke down due to overheating. They went to a nearby cantina while the truck was cooling down. They talked about the '52 Chevy and Scooter revealed that it was a turnkey vehicle. The two scouts of Tex Mex Motors expressed their excitement as they intended to make more money this season.

As Scooter went to the restroom after a few drinks at the bar, the mic soon picked up some commotion. Scooter came running out and asked Rabbit to hurry up and start the car as he made a friend in the restroom who wanted them to follow him to his place. He received a tip about a '66 Lincoln with suicide doors, which promised a higher valuation and a potentially lucrative sale.

"I found us a car lead, man. '66 Continental, suicide doors. This guy, Carlos I met. He will lead us to it, but we gotta go," stated Scooter.

Carlos rushed in his car as his wife was angry at him for staying too long in the cantina, the C10 wouldn't start easily due to its engine and overheating issues. Rabbit finally was able to start the truck and rushed to catch up to Carlos at Tex Mex Motors.

Even Rabbit was amused that they initially came to look for a '52 Chevrolet but now were after a totally different type of car. They were excited by the prospect of renewing the Continental, as it would give them twice as much as what the '52 Chevrolet would have gotten the garage on Tex Mex Motors.

Rabbit explained that Continental was once a sought-after vehicle as from the President to the King Elvis Presley himself owned it. After looking at the Continental, the scouts were happy to pay some cash for it. Rabbit even increased the price from $2,500 to $3,750 if Carlos agreed to take the C10 truck as well.

"Full disclosure, this truck's got a slight overheating problem. I will give another thousand to cover any repairs," revealed Rabbit.

In the end, Carlos agreed to take the truck as his father used to possess the same truck in his childhood.
