"They're terrible actors" — Sister Wives fans react to Robyn and Kody pretending to be happy for Christine's wedding

Sister Wives season 18 episode 17 was released on January 12, 2025, and featured Christine Brown’s wedding to David Woolley, a significant milestone for the family. Christine, who ended her spiritual marriage with Kody Brown in 2021 after more than 25 years, tied the knot with David in October 2023.

The episode featured several moments between the family, including Christine’s son Paedon walking her down the aisle and emotional reactions from her children. It particularly looked at Ysabel who admitted to initially feeling that David’s proposal came “too soon.”

The ceremony brought together the family to celebrate the new chapter in Christine’s life. While her children expressed their happiness for Christine, her ex-husband, Kody, made a surprising acknowledgment of her happiness, despite his absence from the event.

Fans of the show, Sister Wives took to X to express their opinion on Robyn and Kody’s behavior during the episode. They accused the two of “pretending to be happy” for Christine while some called them "terrible actors."

Ysabel reflects on Christine’s engagement and wedding day in Sister Wives

Christine’s daughter Ysabel shared mixed emotions regarding her mother’s engagement to David Woolley in Sister Wives. In a conversation, she told Christine how David’s expressions of love for her stood out and recalled how he told her he loved her when they were out of town. Ysabel noted that she had never heard someone say "I love you" so many times to her mother.

However, Ysabel revealed in a confessional that she initially thought David’s proposal came “too soon.” Over time, the cast member's perspective changed when she saw their connection growing and noted that she had "time to adjust to it." She explained that she couldn't imagine life without David now.

Christine’s children weren’t the only ones reflecting on the day. Paedon, who walked her down the aisle, expressed his approval of David, calling him “a really good man.” The ceremony itself, which Ysabel described as “perfect,” further highlighted her support for her mother’s new chapter.
