The Boyfriend has been taking the internet since its inception on July 9 on Netflix. With its last episode, i.e., episode 10, released on July 30, fans had to bid a bittersweet goodbye to the coveted show. Following this, they were hoping for a reunion so that they could get clarity on what went on after these men went home.
The official Instagram handle of Netflix Japan announced the reunion episode or the commentary special on the same day as they released the last episode, i.e., July 30. They said it will air on Saturday, August 3.
Fans of the show have since been taking to X to react to the announcement. They are hoping to see DaiShun still going strong; some of them are also rooting for Usak and Kazuto to be a couple. One fan wrote,

"So neither of the boys is gonna say something until the reunion on august 3rd for sure, I mean, they will probably surprise us with lots of news so yeah, we will see then."

Some fans were hoping to see Usak and Kazuto together as a couple in the reunion episode. Some of them think their being together was inevitable and want to see how they compliment each other on the reunion episode. One tweet read,

"I hope that Usak & Kazuto are together and that we will see them together at the reunion. That's it," read another tweet.

Netflix Japan announces a commentary special of The Boyfriend
A commentary special or a reunion episode was announced by the official Netflix account of Japan on July 30, the same day it aired the finale, episode 10, of The Boyfriend. The post said that the special will be aired on Saturday, August 3, at 8 pm JST, or 11 am UTC.
In the same post, they also announced a giveaway. It said that 20 lucky winners would get unique merchandise from The Boyfriend, which will be in association with the famous brand NKNIT.
The rules for signing up for the giveaway were also mentioned in the said post. To participate, The Boyfriend fans have to follow the Netflix Japan official Instagram page, then tweet using the hashtag #boyfriendnight.
All 10 episodes of The Boyfriend are available to stream on Netflix.
