The latest episode of Sister Wives season 19 was released on Sunday, January 5, 2025, exclusively on TLC. The episode, titled A Time To Weep, A Time To Laugh, saw Kody Brown address the influence of his wife, Robyn Brown, on his relationships with his other wives. The Brown family patriarch expressed frustration with the emotional distance he felt in his relationships with Janelle and Meri.

Kody highlighted the significant role Robyn played in his decision-making, particularly concerning his past marriages.

“No Robin stop, This has to end. You and I have the right to move on. Everybody else has,” he explained in a confessional.

The Sister Wives star acknowledged that his relationships with his other wives, particularly Janelle and Meri, had reached an emotional breaking point. The episode gave fans insight into the struggles Kody faced in his plural marriage, apart from the impact Robyn's influence had on his relationships.

Sister Wives' Kody Brown addresses Robyn’s influence on his marriages

During the latest Sister Wives episode, Kody Brown discussed his emotional disconnect from his other wives. In a confessional, he explained that he couldn't "find intimacy with them anymore," specifically referring to his relationship with Janelle. Kody emphasized that he felt there was no emotional closeness or intimacy with his now ex-wife.

“No, she’s... I mean, do you think she’s just not that intimate? I mean emotionally," Brown said.

Robyn Brown, who is his only wife at the moment, suggested that Kody might be able to work things out with Janelle. She asked if he thought it was something he and Janelle could work out.

However, Kody underscored his lack of desire to do so and highlighted the growing emotional distance between him and his other wives. Additionally, Robyn’s attempts to encourage reconciliation were not well-received.

Robyn’s influence over Kody’s decision-making became clear as she suggested that Kody try to resolve his issues with Janelle for the sake of their children. Despite her encouragement, Kody remained firm in his stance, explaining that the love and trust were gone. He clarified his position seemingly indicating that he no longer saw a path forward with his other wives.

The role of Robyn in Kody’s marital decisions

Kody said throughout the conversation that Robyn had continually encouraged him to stay in relationships with his other wives, even when they were falling apart. He noted that Robyn encouraged him to "suck it up for the sake of the kids" whenever things got bad with his other wives.

Brown said he was convinced by Robyn's words, pointing out that she had been urging him not to give up on their marriage due to slight problems. In the episode, Kody got frustrated after his wife advised him to try making the relationships "salvageable" while he felt they were beyond repair.

“You've you've got to stop pushing this on me Robyn. You and I have a truth we share it look at in each other's eyes," Kody said to her.

Robyn believed that plural marriage was worth the struggle and that keeping the family intact was important. She repeatedly tried to get Kody to work out his issues with Meri and Janelle. The reality star was hopeful that her husband could fix the relationship and explained that he could "figure it out."

However, the idea didn't resonate with Kody, who explained that he and Meri weren't "seeing eye to eye," adding that he wasn't loyal to her and that he didn't care. His comments underscored his belief that the emotional bonds in his marriages had broken down and that trying to fix them would be futile.

Tensions between Robyn’s encouragement and Kody’s desire for change

As the Sister Wives episode continued, Robyn attempted to explain her perspective by noting the complexity of their past relationships.

"It’s a lot of weird things about relationships in the past and... a lot of strange things that I don’t quite understand that are... you just better or you rewrite in the past?" she said.

However, Kody emphasized his need to move forward. He explained that he no longer wished to stay in relationships that he felt would not work, especially due to Robyn’s encouragement to remain in unfulfilling unions. The Sister Wives patriarch stated his frustration with the idea of maintaining marriages that he believed had reached an impasse.

“I’m not going to sit here and try and fix things with a marriage that will never work,” he said.

Kody also acknowledged that Robyn had been an influential force in his relationship with Meri. He explained in a Sister Wives confessional that he would have "moved on from Meri a lot sooner," but noted that Robyn was "constantly encouraging that relationship.
