Love is Blind Mexico introduced viewers to couples who bonded in the pods and then were challenged in the real world by different ups and downs. One of the contestants who found an instant connection on the show were Willy and Francesca. After the two love birds got engaged, they struggled to retain the same connection they had in the pods.
Willy especially "panicked" after the wedding date was decided, and started to overthink his decision as to how he was marrying someone he had recently met. In episode 7, Gerardo and his partner visited Willy's apartment with a paper boat as a gift. Willy explained that it referred to a conversation Gerardo and he had previously, in which he advised his friend to take control of his life decisions and be confident in them.

Willy revealed he had taken his life decisions into his own hands and broken up with Francesca. This was shocking news for Gerardo to hear as he was rooting for them. The Love is Blind Mexico star said:
"A few hours ago I spoke to Francesca and I decided this isn't for me."

Willy reveals the reason behind his breakup with Gerardo on Love is Blind Mexico episode 7
On Love is Blind Mexico episode 7, Willy shared that he had a lot to learn from and grow. He wasn't sure of marrying right now, even though before signing for the experiment he didn't feel that way. Willy further clarified that it wasn't Francesca's fault, and that she had always been honest and open with him. He just wasn't ready for this big of a commitment yet.
He told Gerardo that they were not on the same page in regards to their future and he decided to part ways. Gerardo was surprised to hear this. Willy further explained:
"It made me sad to see how emotional she was after hearing my decision to let her go. It's sad that I couldn't do more, really am. Francesca has been so honest and open with me. I still have a lot of growing to do, a lot of evolving."
Willy shared that his life experiences affected his ability to make decisions, and he wasn't used to the "ups and downs." According to Francesca, Willy got scared after the wedding date was finalized. He went back to his old habits and was trying to find ways to avoid the situation. The Love is Blind Mexico contestant mentioned:
"My whole life has been an emotional roller coaster. And I'm not used to ups and downs. I don't let myself feel things. I don't fall in love."
Willy tried to comfort Francesca and hug her, but she refused. Francesca said this decision was made by Willy alone and she had no say in this.
