Love is Blind Mexico released its third installment of episodes, 9 and 10, on August 15. The final episodes saw the couples get to the last phase of the experiment- the altar. It was the day that would decide their foreseeable future.
Rene and Irais were among the couples who got to this phase, but Rene, who exhibited signs of surety till the end, flipped his decision and backed off from marrying Irais once the officiator asked if he'd say "I do."
He saw his family right before it was time for his wedding, and they made him question his decision. His mom said a month wasn't enough to know someone he would be with all their life. His sister echoed her sentiments and said that he wasn't doing it the right way, yet she was there to support him. His father didn't show up to the wedding because he was against the experiment, according to what his mother said in a confessional.

Fans of Love is Blind Mexico took to X to call out his family's behavior on the wedding day, They also reacted to the looks Rene's sisters were giving when Rene and Irais were on the altar.
"Those smug looks on Rene's mother and his sister's faces," one fan said.
"René actually did Iraís a favor! She got to stay on the show like she wanted. But she didn’t have to marry that drunk and deal with his horrible family!" another fan said.

What did Rene have to say when he rejected Irais at the altar on Love is Blind Mexico?
After Irais walked down the aisle, both of them read out the letters they had written for each other. They expressed gratitude for the time they spent with each other through their Love is Blind Mexico journey.
However, when the officiator asked them if they would say "I do", Rene backed out. He said he couldn't do it that day because he believed he was making a hasty decision, just as his family said.
He said he believed in the "team" they made together and the long road they had ahead. This meant that he wasn't calling things off, but wanted to take his time to get married. He added that he wanted to be true to himself and didn't want to lie to them both.
Irais took to a Love is Blind Mexico confessional to say that life sometimes took unexpected turns and not everything had to be perfect.
