The Bravo series Married to Medicine delves into the personal narratives of women in Atlanta's medical community. Dr. Jackie Walters shared an update in the latest episode of season 11, which aired on Sunday, January 26.

She revealed to Dr. Heavenly Kimes that she had received an invitation to the White House to attend the Reproductive Freedom Conference. Reflecting on the moment, Jackie said:

“To get another phone call from the White House asking me to be a part of the Reproductive Freedom Conference was so exciting. Paging Dr. Jackie means something different now.”

The Married to Medicine episode highlighted Jackie's passion for women's health and her commitment to representing the medical community on important national issues.

Jackie and Heavenly’s conversation on Married to Medicine season 11 episode 9

In an exchange, Jackie invited Heavenly over to share the news. Their conversation started lightheartedly, with Heavenly asking, “How you been?” Jackie quickly responded, “Girl, I got something to tell you,” before announcing her White House invitation. Jackie explained her excitement, saying,

“I got an invite to the White House of the United States of America. She is such a champion for women's rights, women's health.”

Jackie revealed she could bring other physicians to the event and initially contacted Dr. Simone Whitmore, explaining, “I thought an OBGYN would want to go.” This revelation led to a confessional from Heavenly, who said:

“B***h, after I done fixed your damn med gala… This is how you thank me? You invite Simone, did Simone do the damn med gala? I'm the best friend any b***h can have.”

However, Jackie reassured her, she further said:

“They actually told me I can bring two people. I’m taking you too.”

Heavenly immediately expressed her excitement about the opportunity, stating her eagerness to attend and sharing that, although she had seen the White House before, she had never been inside, much like Jackie. She also assured Jackie stating:

“I will not embarrass you. I'm gonna act right. I'm gonna try to be as quiet as I can. We're gonna have so much fun. That is an experience of a lifetime, Jackie.”

In her confessional on Married to Medicine, Jackie humorously remarked that she had no concerns about Heavenly’s behavior at the White House but playfully cautioned others to avoid making any negative comments about Heavenly’s husband, as that could potentially stir trouble.

What else happened in the Married to Medicine episode?

This Married to Medicine episode featured several other notable moments, including a date between Phaedra Parks and Cheick. Phaedra greeted Cheick warmly, saying, “Look at here, look at here.”

Cheick brought her flowers, which delighted her as she revealed, “I love flowers. Gifts is my love language.” The two discussed their backgrounds, with Phaedra sharing that she is a lawyer and funeral director, while Cheick mentioned his French-African heritage.

The conversation turned playful when Phaedra joked about being perceived as “a piece of juicy fruit,” to which Cheick responded, “You’re pretty juicy, though.” In her confessional, Phaedra spoke about her casual approach to dating, emphasizing that a date doesn’t necessarily imply anything beyond enjoying good company.

Cheick also revealed that he knew Phaedra’s ex-husband, Apollo Nida, and his current wife. Phaedra acknowledged the connection but showed no concern.

“Apollo is married. I've definitely moved on. So I don’t see a problem with it whatsoever,” he said.

The date ended on a positive note, with Phaedra stating:

“I obviously like Cheick. He makes me happy. So we’ll see what happens.”

Later in the Married to Medicine episode, Jackie, Heavenly, and Simone attended the Reproductive Freedom Conference at the White House. The event featured a keynote speech by Vice President Kamala Harris, introduced by Chrissy Teigen. Addressing the audience, Harris reflected on the implications of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision and its impact on reproductive rights.

“The highest court in our land took a constitutional right that had been recognized from the people of America,” Harris said.

She discussed restrictive state laws and emphasized the importance of voting in the fight for reproductive freedom.

The conference resonated with the Married to Medicine cast members. Simone spoke in her confessional about the challenges faced by women under restrictive laws, sharing her experiences with high-risk pregnancies and fetal anomalies. Heavenly added:

“It should be that a doctor should be allowed to do their job. But now, with the overturn of Roe v. Wade, they have to consider a law rather than doing what's best for their patients.”

After the seminar, the Married to Medicine stars met Kamala Harris. Jackie expressed her gratitude, saying, “We are so grateful to be here.” She called the experience a dream come true, stating:

“I need to dream bigger because today, my dreams were taken to the top, honey.”

Married to Medicine airs on Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
