Episode 5 of Too Hot to Handle began with Demari's confrontation with Bri. When he told her about his relationship with Valentina, Bri was visibly upset and asked him to look for a different place to sleep for the night, and Demari decided to share a bed with Valentina.

In a confession, Bri said:

"There is no second chance for Demari, he can kiss me goodbye, and not on the lips."

The next morning, Lana made an announcement, asking all the contestants to own up to their mistakes and face the consequences. But no one came forward, so she called everyone to the cabana and gave another chance for everyone to confess or the penalty would get doubled. Flavia and Joao owned up to their rule breaks, which ended up costing the group $16,000.

On the other hand, Louis and Katherine's multiple rule breaks cost the group $40,000, and the kiss shared by Demari and Valentina during their beach date cost the group $6,000. So the total prize pot then stood at $137,000.

Bri said that she felt the need to keep her guard up to protect herself from getting hurt, and she chose not to give many chances to others for fear of getting hurt. Demari said that he felt he needed to come out as someone who had it all figured out, but he didn’t, and he didn’t want to be vulnerable in front of other people.

Katherine said she needed to come out as someone strong who had their sh** together, and she started crying. Charlie found this an attractive trait, hugged her to console her, and told her he wanted to kiss her and talk about exploring their connection more.
