A new season of Netflix's popular dating show Too Hot to Handle returned on July 19, 2024. In season 6, the series introduces viewers to several singles from around the world who live together in a luxurious tropical villa. They must all follow one rule and resist physical temptations throughout the show.
The show introduced a new feature of sending the rule breakers to the banishment chambers, which do not have any amenities like the villa. Too Hot to Handle season 6 raises the stakes with more drama, romance, and a cash prize of $250,000.
In the first episode, Lana revealed that Charlie and Bri spent $15,000, making contestants wonder what happened in the quarters. They spent money spying on their crushes, Lucy and Demari, to observe the moves in their absence.
On July 19, 2024, viewers saw the release of the first four episodes. Netflix will release the 5th, 6th, and 7th episodes on July 26 and the 8th, 9th, and 10th on August 2.
The banishment: Charlie and Bri's misstep in Too Hot to Handle season 6
Charlie and Bri get into trouble in the first episode of Too Hot to Handle season 6 because they keep breaking Lana's rules. After reaching the banishment quarters, Bri said,
"I'm grateful to still be here, but this feels like a bad dream. We're obviously her prisoners."
Charlie reflects on the situation, realizing that his dream has turned into a nightmare. He had expected to share a bed with Lucy, but instead, he finds himself sleeping alone in a bunk bed.
The goal of this new plot twist in Too Hot to Handle is to isolate rule-breakers from the rest of the group. This place would give them time to reflect on their actions and how they affected others.
A pricey mistake: spying on crushes on Too Hot to Handle
While in the Banishment Chambers, Charlie and Bri's curiosity about their crushes, Demari and Lucy, makes them make a decision
Bad Lana appears in the banishment quarters and says,
"This place is too boring. Let's spice things up a bit. Take a seat. This morning, Lana sent two new arrivals to the retreat. They will get to choose one date for the evening."
Bad Lana adds that she has their back, offering them the chance to watch the chosen dates on the screen for a bargain price of $5000.
Bri agrees to spy on Damari as he goes on a date with Flavia. Damari starts flirting and rapping for Flavia, prompting Bri to comment that he has never rapped for her, which makes her unhappy.
Meanwhile, Bad Lana offers Charlie the chance to spy on Lucy for another $5000. In a confessional, Charlie admits that Bad Lana's deals are incredibly tempting, comparing her to a devilish figure on his shoulder.
Later, Bad Lana returns to Charlie and Bri, announcing that Louis and Flavia have chosen their dates for the night. She asks if they want to see who the lucky guests are, but it will cost them $5000.
The $15,000 expenditure allows Charlie and Bri to set up surveillance, giving them a secret window into the lives of their crushes. After spending the money, Bri said,
"Bad Lana ran that credit, but totally worth it."
This situation complicates the relationship between the contestants in Too Hot to Handle.
Repercussions of rule-breaking
Lana announces at the end of episode 2,
"A further $15,000 has been deducted from the prize fund. I can confirm the additional $15,000 is not spent by Louis and Katherine. The people responsible for the unaccounted deductions are not in this room."
This lets the contestants know that Bri and Charlie are still in the game and not eliminated.
As the season progresses, the contestants must learn to balance their romantic interests with the rules imposed by Lana, all while striving to form genuine emotional connections.
Too Hot to Handle season 6 is available for streaming on Netflix from July 19, 2024.
