Too Hot to Handle season 6 episode 8 came out on Netflix on Friday, August 2, 2024. The eighth episode featured a women-only workshop for the female cast members. As Lana, the AI, explained, the workshop was to help the female housemates who “struggle to form deep and long-lasting relationships.”

Intimacy coach Brenden Durell conducted the workshop. The location was the seaside, where individual ice baths were ready for the girls. Throughout the workshop, the coach encouraged everyone and explained everything.

What was the “Women-only workshop” on Too Hot To Handle season 6: Details explored

Desiree, the narrator of Too Hot To Handle, explains the female housemates and their current relationships as,

"Flavia is sabotaging her deepening connection with Joao in favor of short-term gratification with bad boy Jalen. And Katherine may be rightly upset with Charlie, but she has completely shut down instead of discussing the issues they face."

Lana agreed and shared that the ingrained behaviors that Katherine and Flavia exhibited in their past outside of the retreat are why they struggle to form deep and long-lasting relationships. It’s time to confront their issues head-on with a women-only workshop.

All the girls went to the beach, where Intimacy coach Brenden Durell explained the workshop and told everyone that the workshop was all about learning how to embrace discomfort without hiding or running away.

He greeted all the female housemates and started the workshop. He asked all the participants who found it easier to shut down, close their hearts, and run away when things got tough, and asked them to raise their hands if they agreed. They all raised their hands.

The coach asked if they had ever pushed through the difficulties or confronted the root causes of why they shied away from them.

When nobody said anything, Desiree narrated,

"Yeah, I take that as a no."

Coach Brenden asked who would talk about their issues right then, even though the participants hesitated to share. Katherine shared in the confessional, "No, thank you. This is exactly what I did not want to do." Flavia also shared that talking about her feelings was hard for her and that it could be awkward.

He then pointed to the ice baths placed behind the girls and shared further process,

"Behind you, we have these lovely ice baths. Ice baths represent a stressful situation. If you’re one who normally just like shuts down and runs away, this is going to help you just be with the discomfort."

Coach added,

"It might not be fun, but it’s time to take a plunge."

He then counted from 3 to 1 and asked everyone to jump into the icy bath water. When they touched the cold water, everyone started screaming and didn’t want to go in.

Lucy yelled, “It’s cold.” Gianna screamed, "Y’all said it's Too Hot to Handle, not Too Cold to Handle!" Katherine and Bri were also screaming.

Too Hot To Handle female housemates’ high-pitched screaming was audible up to the retreat, where boys wondered why girls were screaming. The coach then told all the girls that the ice bath represented the issues that they had had.

After staying in the icy cold water, the girls started feeling better. Bri shared that the more she put her mind to it, the better it got.

Lucy shared in the confessional,

"As horrible as this is, the more I’m in this ice-cold water, the more powerful I feel."

Gianna shared it was grounding to be that cold. It was just her, her mind, her body, and the cold, and all she could do was focus on that. Katherine said she was just letting go and “being comfortable with the discomfort.”

Soon, the coach asked them to come out of the ice water and face their issues. They all then sat on the beach, and the coach complimented them. He then asked them all how that was for them. Bri shared that at first, she thought she couldn’t do it.

The coach asked Giana if she had any behavior patterns that she needed to address. She shared she is a very emotional person. She thought that, for the longest time, she had used boys to fulfill her happiness. Whatever they say or think about her deeply affects her. The coach then asked her where that pattern came from.

However, Gianna continued with tears in her eyes,

"And then you have people tell you that you’re not pretty enough, or you’re not skinny enough. And I carried that with me, and I still carry it to this day."

When the coach asked her if she had any clarity now, Gianna shared that as long as she had her validation within herself and the capacity to fill her cup, then she didn’t need anyone else to do so. Coach Brenden Durell described this as “Powerful.”

Sabrina also shared her relationship with her ex when she put her heart out and that she needed to stop looking at feelings and emotions as a weakness. Lucy shared that sometimes she finds it hard being by herself and not as a couple and that the cold water reminded her she needs to be comfortable in the uncomfortable.

Bri shared that whenever she is in a relationship and likes someone, she runs because she cannot trust that the relationship will be safe.

Katherine initially shared that she was bad at explaining how she felt on the inside. The coach said that discomfort is normal and that it translates to our romantic relationships. She further shared that she hates being uncomfortable, but she wants to grow as a person because she is tired of doing the same things that she did in the past.

Coach asked her about those old habits; she said that she needed to stop thinking that all the guys were out there to hurt her, so she ran away. The coach then asked where that pattern came from.

Katherine’s answer was,

"Well, I just want to protect myself from being hurt. And that stems from stuff that happened in my childhood with my father. He just hurt me."

Later, she shared in the confessional that her father abandoned her family and herself when she was a kid. Even though she told him she loved him and wanted him to be there for her, he still left. However, she then realized that she needed to stop running away from her problems and talk with Charlie.

Flavia described the experience as painful and challenging. She then shared in the confessional that she realized the bath represented Joao and their situation and that she had to jump in, open up, be vulnerable, and not jump into the next guy.

All the female housemates felt quite better and more powerful after the workshop ended. They all had a “Nice little Caribbean island hug,” as the coach described, and then they returned to the retreat.
