"You make me a better person"— Demari promises Bri respect in Too Hot To Handle season 6 finale
In Too Hot To Handle season 6, episode 10, Lana sent the cast on their last workshop as their time in the retreat came close. As part of the 'Colors of Change' workshop with Brenden Durell, the couples had the chance to show each other that they had the "emotional maturity" required to "go the distance" with one another.
As the intimacy coach explained, the workshop was about the guests' "growth" and what they learned while on Too Hot To Handle season 6 as they reflected on who they were when they arrived and who they would be when they left Lana's retreat.
He explained that the contestants had to choose a single word to represent what they learned while on the Netflix show and a color to represent that word further.
The Too Hot To Handle contestants took turns to open up about their journeys on the show. When it was Demari's turn, he said that the main thing he felt was missing coming into the retreat was "respect." He added that it hurt him and many other people in different situations.
In a confessional, the Too Hot To Handle season 6 cast member admitted that he hadn't been the "best at respecting others" and respecting himself. He added that being on the show taught him to change his ways and "turn things around."
Recalling the 'Womb for Improvement' workshop and hearing his mother's message about treating women how he'd want someone to treat his mother, Demari said it let him know he was doing something wrong. He added that he learned he needed to "fix that."
"Bri, from here on out, I will continue to try to be the best person that I can be towards you. I'm honored to have you as my girlfriend. I feel like you make me a better person," Demari said.
In a confessional, Bri chimed in on Demari's speech and said it gave her "reassurance." She added that she needed to let go of her "fear of commitment to be able to "receive new love" into her life.
When it was her turn to reflect on her Too Hot To Handle journey, Bri got emotional and revealed that when she arrived on the reality show, she lacked trust in men. She added that she had been carrying that for many years.
"Like everyone here, I have been lied to, cheated on, heartbroken," she said.
Recalling the initial days of the retreat, Bri said she was able to build a "really good connection" with Charlie. She added he was one of the first people she was able to trust on the show.
Bri said that gave her the confidence to go after Demari, and although the two had a turbulent journey, she was glad she was able to find him despite it being "scary" to trust someone with her feelings.
Bri and Demari became the winners of Too Hot To Handle season 6. Bri revealed that she was leaving the show with her man and was past her "trust issues" and "six-figure" richer.
Episodes of Too Hot To Handle season 6 are available to stream on Netflix.
