Love is Blind: Germany premiered on January 3, 2025, on Netflix, bringing the popular dating show franshise to Europe. This season introduced viewers to a group of German singles hoping to find love by focusing on emotional connections rather than physical appearances.

One of the five couples, Hanni and Daniel successfully formed a connection and got engaged. On their honeymoon trip, in episode 4, Hanni opened up to Daniel about her past connections.

She told her Love is Blind: Germany partner that she felt like she could trust him. Hanni noted that trust was always missing in her past connections and she had "always been treated like an accessory"

"I totally feel like I can trust you. And I think that, in the past, that sense of trust was always missing. Because we didn't see each other beforehand, I never have to think, "Okay, how does he view me? Does he just want to, I don't know, carry me around like a purse?" 'Cause I've always been treated like an accessory,: she told Daniel.

"I think that you should actually support each other" Love is Blind: Germany star Hanni shares what she wanted from a partner

Hanni and Daniel were the first Love is Blind: Germany couple to get engaged. They, along with the other engaged couples, embarked on a honeymoon to deepen their understanding of each other.

During their honeymoon period in episode 4, Hanni and Daniel participated in several activities to get closer to one another. While they were sharing a bath together, Daniel shared in his confessional that he could imagine Hanni having problems just because of her looks, which was often taken as a point of reference.

He believed that his partner felt undervalued for who she truly was. He emphasized that her inner attributes were far more significant and deserving of recognition.

Later in the episode, Hanni opened up to Daniel about her past connections and how she was not treated well. She added in her confessional that she was never recognized for her "inner qualities."

"My feelings, who I am, what I want to talk about, my worries, my problems… they never mattered. And I think that you should actually support each other. And I'm up for that, too. I will always support my husband in anything that makes him happy. And I'd like that in return. I've never had that," she continued.

The Love is Blind: Germany star told her partner that she was able to build a strong bond and trust with him which which she felt was missing in her past connections.

"Because I know that, okay, you don't just see one thing. You're with me because we get along, and you got to know me. You heard my opinions and understand me. And then you thought, 'Okay, she's… She's nice!'" she added.

Daniel asked Hanni if she trusted him enough that she could tell him anything as it was "really important" to him. She nodded yes, adding that she never felt like this before with anyone.

Hanni shared that she has never said "I love you"

In episode 1 of Love is Blind: Germany, Hanni mentioned in the introductory confessional that she wanted to find a life partner who could accept and love her for who she was "inside and out".

During one of her dates with Daniel, she revealed that she had never said "I love you" to anyone before.

"To say "I love you" to someone is a really big step for me. To me that involves a huge amount of trust. In any case, my first relationship really shaped me, because he cheated a lot and it showed me I can't just blindly trust everyone I love," she added in her confessional.

Daniel was a bit taken aback by her statement. He later expressed in the confessional that the issue might be problematic as he felt that love can't be forced on someone.
