Big Brother season 26 episode 18 revealed that Brooklyn Rivera was going home. This was a shocking revelation for the viewers after the majority of the houseguests except for Chelsie voted her out.
This was after the Head of Household Tucker won the veto competition and chose his three nominees for the elimination challenge. Initially, Tucker chose Quinn, but after the secret alliance groups were disclosed in front of him, Tucker replaced Quinn's position with Brooklyn's.
Hence, Rivera was in a tough spot, especially after she couldn't save herself by winning the eviction challenge. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on August 23, 2024, Rivera shared the main reason behind her eviction was trusting the wrong people in the Big Brother house. However, the eliminated contestant had no regrets about showing loyalty and maintaining the alliances she had made. Brooklyn further continued:
"I trusted the wrong people, maybe. But honestly, I wouldn't change a thing when it comes to that. I was loyal to the first people that wanted my loyalty, and I wasn't going to budge on it."
Brooklyn Rivera opened up about her Big Brother season 26 experience
The Big Brother season 26 cast member explained how Tucker was in a position of power and no one wanted to be "on his bad side." Brooklyn said that Tucker considered her a threat because she was a strong player. According to her, the reason she was nervous around him wasn't due to his competitive spirit but how he would "hurt" people in the way just to win.
Rivera continued that Tucker's actions came from a place of fear, and hence he targeted her:
"He is scared of someone that's smarter than him. He is scared of someone that has more cojones than him, and that's me. Which is true, he should be! And I am not someone that backs down."
When Rivera was asked why she couldn't convince her fellow housemates to keep her safe, she explained that everyone was scared of being in her position in the coming week. Brooklyn mentioned that most players were playing it safe and were scared to make "big moves," as the voting-out segment of the eviction AI arena challenges is always unexpected. She said:
"They had already made up their minds. This house is a really scared house. People just don't want to make the big moves. They are nervous to get on Tucker's bad side."
Despite being voted out, Brooklyn revealed she had no regrets and was grateful for an experience like this. She had been a Big Brother fan for a long time, so this was a great opportunity for her. Brooklyn felt satisfied with her performance and the decisions she made as a houseguest on the show. She was proud of herself for being a "player" and not a "floater."
Now that Rivera has been eliminated from the show, she is looking forward to the season finale to find out who the winner will be. She said:
"I'm excited to see who walks away as the winner of the season because expect the unexpected. Who knows what's going to happen in that house."
