Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador are part of the American television series, The Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC). The Bravo TV show features several wealthy women's professional and personal lives. Tensions have certainly run high in the current (18th) season between longtime co-star cast members, Tamra and Shannon —especially since September 2023 when Shannon was arrested for a DUI.
Tamra Judge appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on August 15, 2024. When host Andy Cohen shared the poll asking if fans believed she and Shannon would reconcile, Tamra shook her head and responded firmly:
"No. She's trying to trash my name and rewrite history. All I've ever done is try to help her. It was always a one-sided friendship."
Tamra Judge shares her thoughts on Shannon’s DUI incident and their personal equation
On Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the show host discussed the poll with Tamra, which was regarding viewers' opinions on her and Shannon's persistent fighting. The results were on Shannon's side. Tamra found the poll findings inconclusive and shared that fans knew only half side of their story. She explained:
"The other half of the story is that, after her DUI, I [Tamra] was by her side [Shannon] every single day, talking to her every single day, trying to make sure she got the help that she needed. She didn’t get the help she needed.”
Previously in September 2023, Shannon Beador was arrested for DUI. She crashed into a residential property in Newport Beach, California, and was reported three times over the legal limit for alcohol consumption when arrested.
In a November 2023 court case, Shannon was sentenced to three years probation. All of this was covered well on the show then, and Shannon became increasingly criticized and conflicted with Tamra Judge. In fact, Tamra's criticism of how Shannon handled her situation, especially regarding drinking, was one of the main reasons for the conflict between the two.
Meanwhile, Shannon Beador didn't shy away from speaking out on the breakdown of her friendship with Tamra. In an interview with Us Weekly in July 2024, Shannon said she didn't believe a reconciliation would happen. Reflecting on their past, she stated:
"I was feeling like I had to prove to her that I was a good friend, and that’s not healthy for me. I’m making healthy choices right now."
Shannon felt the need to always prove to Tamra that she was a good friend, which she knew was not a healthy dynamic. She added that she often felt like she was walking on eggshells around Tamra.
The long-time Tamra vs. Shannon feud has become one of the central storylines of the current season (18th) of RHOC. The conflict has sparked much interest among viewers and a major controversy, thus adding to the show's dramatic appeal.
