Netflix premiered the second season of Tex Mex Motors on November 22, 2024, with all eight episodes being released simultaneously. The show revolves around a unique auto body shop near the US-Mexico border, where a team of passionate car restorers, led by Mike Coy, scour Mexico for vintage vehicles to restore and sell.

This season, the team faces a significant challenge: generating a $500,000 profit before winter's end. Car scouts Scooter and Rabbit travel the border, searching for hidden gems to restore. In the premiere episode, the two scouts hunted for a '52 Chevrolet Scooter and, after a tip from a friend in a cantina (a bar), landed on a '66 Continental in El Paso.

They anticipated a substantial profit from refurbishing the Continental that would surpass what they would have gained from a '52 Chevrolet. The Continental's prestigious past, having been owned by notable figures such as the President and Elvis Presley, added to its allure. After inspecting the vehicle on Tex Mex Motors, the scouts agreed to pay $3,750 plus their C10 truck.

Back in Borderline Customs Garage, the crew was pleasantly surprised to look at the rare car intact with suicide doors. Although disappointed that the scouts gave away their truck, Jaime felt working on the car would add to their repertoire. An excited Scooter anticipated a substantial windfall from discovering a rare 1966 Lincoln Continental, envisioning a significant return on investment.

"The moneymaker. We'll turn Lincoln pennies into dollars," said Andy.
