Love is Blind Mexico season finale aired exclusively on Netflix on August 18, 2024. In this episode, viewers got an update on whether the couples who found a strong connection in the pods are still together. The main purpose of this experiment was to see if an emotional connection lasts in the real world with distractions, separate goals, and constant doubts.
Chema and Silvia were two of the cast members who were sure of each other in the pods and were ready to get engaged. Although, Chema was confused about whether to choose Alejandra or Silvia but later got some clarity. Chema and Silvia's relationship faced a hurdle especially when they started living together. However, the two never broke up and reached the wedding altar only to run away hand in hand.

The Love is Blind Mexico stars believed their love was stronger than being restricted by rules. That's why they decided they weren't ready for marriage yet but wanted to continue dating. At the reunion episode, when the show hosts asked if they were together, a red light could be seen indicating they were not. Referring to the wedding day, Chema explained why he and Silvia decided to run away together. He told the hosts in episode 11:
"We are two free souls. You couldn't see it so much in the experiment, other sides of us were revealed that were minimal. I think that 95 percent of the time that we were together, not to offend other couples, but there was so much love between us."

Chema and Silvia's relationship update on the Love is Blind Mexico reunion
On the Love is Blind Mexico reunion Silvia shared that they still have that love for each other but it had now "transformed" into friendship. She explained that their relationship couldn't work in the real world due to Chema's problems that were indirectly affecting their connection. Silvia continued stating:
"Well, what happens is that within the experiment, we put our hearts into it, and outside we tried, we stretched the rubber band wide and it failed."
Silvia also implied that she wasn't needed in Chema's life. Without giving too many details Chema admitted he couldn't give her the time or the attention "she deserved" due to his personal issues. He also apologized to Silvia for making unpleasant comments about her appearance on her birthday in front of everyone.
The Love is Blind Mexico star shared he is used to speaking his mind and could've chosen better words to express his dislike for Silvia's dress. Additionally, he said he was grateful for the experiment which taught him to be mindful of his words and how they can affect other people.
Silvia clarified that she has forgiven Chema and they have sorted their issues. Now they plan on staying friends and supporting each other in their individual journeys while emphasizing that their love has "transformed."
