Kevin O'Leary is known for being one of the sharks in the ABC reality show, Shark Tank since its inception in 2009. Known for his outspoken nature, Kevin recently shared through Instagram, a personal aspiration that he had built up for himself but had never disclosed publicly.
Despite accumulating an impressive collection of guitars, Kevin acknowledged that merely owning an instrument does not translate to mastery of it. He revealed that his lifelong dream was to become a skilled guitar player, but what he really needed was time to dedicate to this craft.
He also mentioned that while flying, he listened to a Bonnie Raitt track and was captivated by the guitar riff in the song. Kevin stated that he wanted to learn the particular riff, but the harsh reality was that he could not do so due to the businessman's demanding schedule.
In concluding the clip, Kevin mentioned that time is the most precious resource anyone can have. The Shark Tank judge emphasized that effective time management is crucial, as it directly impacts one's ability to pursue one's passions in life.
"Here’s something you probably didn’t know about me: I’ve always dreamed of being a better guitar player. I’ve got the guitars, I’ve got the inspiration, but the one thing I don’t have is time. And that’s the real challenge. Time is the most valuable resource we all have. Use it wisely," captioned Kevin O'Leary.
Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary believes Abu Dhabi is the best place to meet investors
In another Instagram post on November 29, Kevin O'Leary sparked an interesting debate by comparing Silicon Valley to Abu Dhabi with regard to the most convenient place to meet investors.
According to the Shark Tank regular, Abu Dhabi has emerged as a hub for technological innovation, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence. He elaborated that the city's unique advantage lay in its access to a diverse range of power sources, including oil, gas, and nuclear energy. This abundance of power enabled Abu Dhabi to establish large-scale data centers, which was a crucial component in the development of AI.
He compared it to America's Silicon Valley, which, despite being a renowned tech hub, had challenges in terms of power availability. The Shark Tank judge noted that finding a location with access to such a broad range of power sources was extremely rare in the United States.
"They're able to build data centers with nuclear power and they've done exactly that. They're expanding so quickly. Power is everything. They've got oil, gas, and nuke, very hard to find that all together in the US, anywhere including Silicon Valley," stated Kevin.
Kevin O'Leary's passion for entrepreneurship was evident as he later shared his thoughts on overcoming obstacles. In Kevin's opinion, playing it safe by becoming a consultant was a far more regrettable outcome than taking a chance and potentially failing. He viewed consultancy as a wasted opportunity lacking the potential for significant growth and success.
The Shark Tank judge also highlighted the importance of money in our world. He revealed his belief that making money and building businesses was the reason he was meant to be here. Kevin also joked that his mother might not have even considered having him if there was no potential for financial success.
