Dance Moms: A New Era premiered its first season on August 7, 2024, on Hulu. A reboot of Dance Moms, which aired in 2011 for the first time, Dance Moms: A New Era will see a familiar setting as its predecessor but will be following a new team, a new coach in Glo Hampton, and a new studio throughout its run of ten episodes.

Episode 3, titled Pointe of no return, saw Glo recruiting her daughter, Kaeli, to choreograph the song that they were working on. Kaeli appeared on the previous iteration of the show with her mom and has started working as a professional ballet dancer in the real world with Ballet West in Salt Lake City.

Kaeli specifically picked Audrey to do the en pointe technique during the whole routine as she felt no one was pushing Audrey's boundaries, and she could perform better than she was. Audrey was hesitant to do the routine and questioned Kaeli's decision to include it.

As the team is about to perform on stage, Audrey suffered a mishap as she slammed her foot into the shooting equipment, hurting herself in the process. As Glo tried to help Audrey, Kaeli had a different attitude regarding the situation. Kaeli didn't take Audrey's situation seriously and asked Audrey to move on as she herself had danced on a broken foot for over a month.

Glo defended Audrey against her daughter and asked her to calm down in order to diffuse the situation.

"Stop for a second, because you have no idea what’s happening. Do you understand? What happened back here wasn’t her fault.”

How did the conflict between Glo and Kaeli transpire in Dance Moms: A New Era episode 3?

Following the events of episode 2 in Dance Moms: A New Era, which saw Audrey take center stage for a special performance to honor Glo's son, who passed away due to stillbirth, Audrey was selected to take center stage again for the routine decided by Kaeli.

As soon as Kaeli entered the rehearsal room, she declared her intent to not take it easy on the group as she has been a part of the show previously, and her routines will be tougher than what Glo teaches them.

"You guys know me. You think she's tough, I'm tougher. I'm not gonna have any of you guys making me look bad. Right? Let's get to work," stated Kaeli.

Kaeli, who claims to feel like a big sister to Audrey, feels that Audrey's mother, Tammi, and her own mother, Glo, go easy on Audrey and tend not to scold her. A ballet dancer by profession, Kaeli chose Audrey after her return from Broadway as she felt Audrey had stopped improving under Glo.

During the rehearsals in Dance Moms: A New Era, Kaeli even admitted in a confessional that the choreography is difficult on purpose.

“Audrey is capable of doing more... I’m not sure that there’s anything that’s pushing Audrey right now to want to be better.”

With three days to go before the competition, Audrey started feeling pain in her ankles which prompted her to complain about it to her mother, Tammi. She explained that doing en pointe is of no use as doing ballet doesn't help in winning competitions. Kaeli retorted all of Audrey's points and claimed that Audrey was behaving this way because of Tammi's presence in the rehearsal room.

As the Dance Moms: A New Era episode progressed, Audrey was taken to the emergency room and Bellatrix was chosen as her replacement. The group eventually won the competition but Kaeli still felt that Audrey faked her injury so that she did not have to perform.
