The Later Daters season 1, a dating Netflix reality TV show introduced viewers to six single baby boomers who embark on a journey to find love in their new chapter of life.
With the help of an expert dating coach Logan Ury, the singles go on multiple blind dates to find their perfect match. Ury assists them in managing their expectations and expressing their requirements of what they look for in a partner in the modern dating world.
One of the cast members this season, Suzanne went on a date with Avery in episode 2. Before that she went on a date with Frank, however, the two didn't stay in contact after their first date. After getting to know Avery's background and opening up about her past, Suzanne was satisfied that he might be a good match.

The Later Daters cast member told the cameras during her confessional interview that she had an "easy" conversation with Avery and felt a connection with him. Suzanne said:
"we certainly are connected. You know we had a lot to talk about."
The Later Daters episode 2 titled You Are on a Roll was released exclusively on Netflix on November 29, 2024. The episode synopsis read:
"Pam's colorful past keeps her from looking to the future. Dwayna's jaw drops when Anise unpacks her date. Logan tells Suzanne to toss out her playbook."
Suzanne opens up about her date with Avery on The Later Daters episode 2
On The Later Daters episode 2, Suzanne told the cameras that Avery had a different personality from Frank who she went on a first date with. During her confessional interview, she mentioned that Avery took some time to open up, she said:
"He was a little mysterious, which is always charming to me, anyway. Frank was, heart on his sleeve. He was very forthcoming with everything in his life, his past. Avery was a little different. It took him a little bit to kind of open up."
Avery also shared that he felt comfortable with Suzanne as their conversation flowed naturally. He was impressed by Suzanne and how "genuine" of an individual she was. Stating the reason he felt comfortable to talk openly, The Later Daters cast member said:
"I think the key is I felt very at ease around her. She's not artificial, she's very genuine. I think I am. And so it was easy for two people like that to talk."
Then, Avery expressed he wanted to go on a second date, however, Suzanne wanted to see where things go. The dating coach Logan on the other hand felt, Suzanne was "dating from an outdated rule book" and was "playing hard to get" She continued:
"Avery is a good fit for Suzanne in many ways, but she's dating how people dated 40 years ago, and things have changed. She's playing hard to get, she's being very coy, and I feel like she's dating from an outdated rule book."
