Netflix's Love Never Lies: South Africa features six South African couples having their relationships pushed to the limit. The reality series was released on November 28, 2024.
Minenhle 'Minnie' Dlamini hosts the show, guiding couples as they stay in different villas, strive to repair their relationships and compete for a cash prize. However, loyalty will be tested with tempting singles and deep-seated trust issues.
In episode 3 of Love Never Lies: South Africa, Minnie updated the contestants on their partners' activities. For 5,000 Rands, contestants could see some footage of their respective partners residing in the different villas.
When Kuda was summoned by Minnie, he witnessed Lynn's interactions, which included her meeting Veezo at the villa. The latter, who had previously lived with Kuda as his roommate, hit it off with Lynn, with him even admitting that he was tempted by her despite not wanting to betray Kuda's trust.
Lynn even considered taking their connection to the next level on Love Never Lies: South Africa, justifying it by saying Veezo's resemblance to Kuda made it acceptable. Kuda was infuriated by Lynn's reasoning, emphasizing that cheating is inexcusable regardless of physical similarities.
Kuda's anger was further fueled when Lynn suggested that being intimate with Veezo might not be considered cheating due to his likeness to Kuda. This comment struck a nerve, and Kuda felt that if the situation were reversed, the consequences would be severe.
"One thing that did sort of strike a nerve was when she said, 'Is it cheating is he looks just like me?' I mean if I said that, we'd be at World War III," stated Kuda.
Singles of Villa Umjolo were ordered to go home in Love Never Lies: South Africa
As the contestants grew closer to each other, Minnie made a surprising announcement when she told the singles in Villa Umjolo to pack their bags and go home. For the unversed, the contestants are divided into two villas: Umgowo and Umjolo. The former is home to Kuda, Nikiwe, Nancy, Wilfred, Gontse, and Pretty, while Villa Umjolo houses Lynn, Naledi, Bohlale, Clayton, and Munaka.
Bohlale, who outside the villa is dating Nancy, went out with Mia. As Mia prepared to depart, Bohlale became emotional. He expressed his gratitude towards Mia, stating that she had helped him embark on a journey of self-improvement. Bohlale revealed that Mia had made him feel comfortable enough to be his authentic self, which was a significant feat considering he wasn't typically an affectionate person.
He credited Mia with teaching him how to embrace his true nature, and her departure proved to be a difficult experience for him. Mia also reciprocated the sentiment and revealed that Bohlale made her feel comfortable.
"It's very easy for me to feel comfortable with you. I'm not really a touchy person, but i think with you, which is also natural," said Mia.
Another contestant on Love Never Lies: South Africa, Munaka, also got emotional while saying goodbye to her date, Jordan. Outside the villas, Munaka's partner was Gontse, who was in Villa Umgowo. As Munaka parted ways with Jordan, she acknowledged the positive impact he had on her life.
Jordan showed Munaka that she was worthy of a deep and intimate connection, something she had been missing. Even simple moments, like praying together, made her feel seen and valued. Munaka realized she deserved this kind of love and shouldn't feel guilty for seeking it. As they said their goodbyes, Jordan pulled her into a tight hug.
"You showed me that I do deserve, like, this type of love. Even just us, you know, praying, something so small but so intimate. I deserve that, and I shouldn't feel bad about it," stated Munaka.
