"We had some haters" — Love Island USA star Andrea reflects on her relationship with Rob in the villa 

Andrea Carmona entered the reality show titled Love Island USA season 6 in episode 6. She was a new entry as a 'bombshell,' along with Nicole Jacky. Andrea got eliminated in episode 12 which aired on June 23 and it came as a shock for many islanders. She was coupled with Rob Rausch and the elimination round showed him protesting against Andrea's exit.

Upon her arrival, Andrea was asked to choose 2 castmates for a kiss. Andrea picked Rob and Aaron. She went on a date with both and decided to couple with Rob as she felt a deeper connection with him. Before Andrea, Rob was initially matched with Leah Kateb

Andrea and Rob's relationship did not sit well with a few islanders as she got evicted in the recent episode of Love Island USA. During an interview with Today on June 27, she said:

"When it came down to me and Rob versus Leah and Connor (Newsum), I feel like the fan base probably sympathized more towards Leah and just wanted her to stay on versus Rob and I. I feel like maybe we had some haters.”

For the unversed, Love Island USA is a reality TV show where a bunch of singles enter the villa and are called 'Islanders'. They couple and recouple during the show to form a match and not stay single as it will get them eliminated. It is based on the public voting system.

"I wanted to explore" — Love Island USA star Andrea on her relationship with Rob in the villa

Andrea arrived on day 6 of Love Island USA and soon after that, she chose Rob during the recoupling ceremony. Andrea wanted to explore more about Rob as she felt a genuine connection with him. In a recent conversation with Today, she explained:

"It sounds like a fairy tale or sounds like a movie made up, but it was just a connection, like a feeling that I had with him. It just felt right. It felt safe. I felt more of, like, a s*xual attraction to him than I did with Aaron (Evans)."

Talking about Aaron and Rob, she continued:

"Aaron was fun and bubbly. But I was kind of just like, ‘What is with this boy?’ There was something more to Rob that I wanted to explore and I just felt different about."

Before Andrea's entry, Rob was paired with Leah, and the couple's fallout created a heated argument. Leah went ahead to couple with Connor but felt blindsighted by Rob. Although Andrea and Leah never had any sort of argument, the former felt Leah had been manipulating her by saying negative things about Rob in Love Island USA. She said in the interview:

"She definitely did say a lot of negative things about him. I guess to her defense, if we’re getting technical, she never said it directly to me. But she would yell it very loudly in the dressing rooms as we’re all getting ready to gather."

Just before the release of episode 12, audiences cast their votes to choose the most and the least favorite couple. According to the votes, Andrea, Nicole, and JaNa were the bottom-most 'Islanders'. The rest of the girls unanimously chose Andrea for the elimination.

The elimination was quite jolting for Andrea as she thought she had a strong connection with Rob and was looking forward to going a long way in Love Island USA. Meanwhile, Rob was equally shattered and wanted to leave the villa with her. She expressed how she felt post-eviction:

"Yes, I was surprised. I thought we would have been in the top. I did have an inclination that probably Leah and Connor were voted in just because I feel like maybe the fan base had felt for Leah in the whole Rob situation. So I felt like it wasn’t necessarily about the couples in that voting. I feel like it was more about favorites people were voting for."
