In the January 24, 2025 episode of Love After Lockup which was released on WEtv, troubles arose between one of the couples on the show, Kate and Hunter. In their segment, Kate could be seen at a park with Leah when Hunter called from prison. Hunter asked to speak with Kate privately, and so she walked away from Leah. Hunter confessed to Kate that he had been in touch with another woman through a prison pen pal program.
He admitted that this woman had visited him and that their interactions had become physical. On hearing the news, Kate became furious. She felt Hunter had made a stupid mistake and was angry about his infidelity.
"I felt the need to be completely honest. After I got in trouble with the Write A Prisoner, like they were all gone, except for one. So, I’m still talking to one. I just want to let you know everything. The chick has been actually coming here. We were a little intimate at the visits," confessed Hunter.

Kate confronts Hunter about infidelity on Love After Lockup
In a confessional on Love After Lockup, Kate expressed her disgust and anger. She felt Hunter had been trying to ease his own guilt by telling her about his infidelity and back in the park, Kate confronted Hunter. She told him that he seemed comfortable in prison, since he had been was getting special treatment from women. Hunter claimed he was only telling Kate the truth to clear his conscience.
"She put hands on him. Got se*ual with him. It's disgusting. And then he calls me to tell me about it so that he can feel better about himself. Like, what is he doing?" Kate stated.
Kate was furious, pointing out that their conversation was being recorded and could get Hunter in further trouble. She felt Hunter wasn't holding up his end of their relationship, with Kate working hard to support Hunter and preparing for his release. Hunter tried to defend himself on Love After Lockup, saying his physical relationship with his prison pen friend happened before they got serious.
However, Kate refused to listen to his justification and demanded that Hunter prove his committmebt to their relationship by ending his interactions with other women. Kate felt that he had been living a comfortable life in prison, owing to her support.
Hunter took offense to Kate's words, and felt that she was being unfair. Kate did not concede and told him that she needed to see him take responsibility. Hunter apologized and reaffirmed his love for Kate, but she remained unconvinced. The conversation ended with Kate feeling angry and betrayed. She told Hunter goodbye, expressing her frustration.
In a confessional, Kate shared her feelings about the betrayal. She warned that if someone betrays her, they will face consequences.
"It takes a lot to make me angry, to make me feel betrayed, and if you betray me, I will watch you suffer. Don't fuck with me. You will pay. I will get my pound of flesh," expressed Kate.
Later, Leah approached Kate back in the park on Love After Lockup and asked what she planned to do. Kate reflected on the fragility of trust, saying it takes time to build it but can break easily. Leah encouraged Kate, saying she deserved better.
