Mark Cuban, billionaire entrepreneur and prominent star of Shark Tank, recently credited his wife, Tiffany Stewart, as a vital contributor to his success. In an interview with People magazine on December 6, 2024, Cuban stated:

“My wife and I have a great relationship…We make a great duo.”

Ahead of his planned exit from Shark Tank, he praised Stewart's independence, intelligence, and her dedication to their family. Cuban acknowledged that their partnership has played a significant role in balancing his demanding career and family life.

How Tiffany Stewart became part of Mark Cuban’s life?

According to Forbes, Mark Cuban and Tiffany Stewart met in 1997 at a gym in Dallas. At the time, Cuban was building his business empire, while Stewart worked in sales at an advertising agency. Following the sale of Cuban’s company, Broadcast.com, for $5.7 billion in 1999, Stewart continued to maintain her career.

In a New York Times interview in 2000, she referred to herself and Shark Tank fame Cuban as “middle-class people” and expressed her practical view of their wealth, describing the Dallas mansion Cuban purchased as “impractical.” The couple married on September 21, 2002, in an intimate ceremony in Barbados attended by 20 close friends and family.

Stewart’s role as a wife and parent

During the latest interview with People magazine, Mark Cuban reflected on teamwork and credited Stewart with helping to manage aspects of his life that allowed him to focus on his career. Cuban shared a principle that has guided their partnership so far:

“If you can’t stand alone, you can’t stay together.”

While Stewart usually prefers to keep a low public profile, she occasionally joins Cuban at major events, such as the 2015 White House State Dinner and the 2017 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. Cuban emphasized how her constant support complements his professional endeavors.

Tiffany Stewart and Mark Cuban share three children—Alexis, Alyssa, and Jake. Cuban described her responsibilities in the interview:

“She's in charge of our children. I show up, but she organizes it all. I get told where to be and when.”

He emphasized his wife's qualities, saying:

“She's independent, smart, kind, curious. She's always reading and learning and exposed to new things.”

The Shark Tank investor mentioned that conversations with Stewart allow him to absorb new knowledge, which he referred to as learning “through osmosis.”

He elaborated on their parenting arrangement, explaining that Stewart handles morning school drop-offs while he takes late-night pickups. Shortly after the birth of their first child, Cuban told The Washington Post in November 2003 that Stewart has been "the best mom" staying hands-on with the family all the time.

Balancing family values and wealth

Mark Cuban stated that his family values are essential, and he and Stewart are committed to ensuring their children grow up with discipline and perspective. In a 2020 interview with People magazine, the Shark Tank investor said:

“I’m not the dad that’s like, ‘Oh, you’re mad at me? Let me buy you a Ferrari.’”

He recounted an incident where his daughter asked for a luxury car, and he responded:

“You’re getting a Volvo. And if you do really well in class this year, it’ll be a new Volvo and not a 10-year-old Volvo.”

Encouraging his children to follow their passions and develop strong work ethics, he said during an April 2021 interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show:

“The way to really be successful in my mind is just being able to get excited about something that you wake up every day looking forward to.”
