“We were trying to make it work” — Love Never Lies: South Africa star Kuda reflects on his relationship

Love Never Lies: South Africa premiered exclusively on Netflix in November. Fast forward to December, when all episodes, including the reunion episode, have aired. In this reality TV series, six couples and their connection are tested through temptation. Contestants and their claims are evaluated through a lie detector test as it is revealed whether they are loyal partners.

In the newly released reunion episode, one of the couples, Kuda and Lynn, reflected on their relationship. After the show was wrapped up, the couples shared updates regarding their relationship stating they tried to make it work in the real world. Kuda shared he had apologized to Lynn about his behavior as they both were putting in the effort to continue their relationship.

"We were trying to make it work. We had a chat. I said some apologizing," Kuda said.

Love Never Lies: South Africa episode 8 titled The Reunion was released exclusively on Netflix on December 8, 2024.

Kuda and Lynn discuss their relationship problems on Love Never Lies: South Africa reunion

On the Love Never Lies: South Africa reunion episode, Kuda shared his perspective on his seven-year relationship with Lynn. He implied that Lynn wanted him to become a changed man without giving him the time to do so. Lynn, on the other hand, stated that Kuda's personality was the same and that he made no noticeable progress. Kuda mentioned that "progress is a slow process" and watching the show made him realize a lot of things.

"Progress is a slow process. And I'm grateful for the experience because I've evolved into a different person now. Even watching over the show, I was just like, 'oh, shame shame shame,'" he said.

Lynn told the Love Never Lies: South Africa host that she already knew their relationship had ended despite the two trying to rekindle their connection after the filming wrapped up. For Lynn, it was obvious that they could no longer be a couple.

"I remember contacting a friend to ask where Kuda was. I heard the door close. By then I was like, this is not going to work. We continued trying for another two or three weeks but I was, I had made up my mind that this is not the life I want to live. I cannot do this for a second longer," she shared.

Upon hearing this, Kuda apologized for his behavior emphasizing that his actions "were obviously never intentional." He shared his progress stating he had joined therapy and was trying not to overspend on "enjoyment and other things."

"So sorry you had to go through that. It was obviously never intentional. I was still a young and excited man. I'm in therapy, I'm cutting down on the booze, I moved my offices to Sandton so that the rent is more expensive and I have less money for enjoyment and things," Kuda said.
