Welcome to Plathville is a TLC reality show that introduces viewers to Barry and Kim Plath's families. They have nine children and one of them is Moriah Plath. Her character in the 6 seasons has gained attention, where her relationship with Max Kallschmidt was also showcased.

Moriah Plath introduced Max Kallschmidt, her boyfriend, to the show's family members and audience in season 2, which aired in 2020. The relationship was approved by Moriah's family, including her brother Ethan and his wife Olivia. They believed that Max was a good match for their sister.
By season 3 of Welcome to Plathville, things had gotten more serious between the couple, and they even decided to move in together in Tampa. This made Moriah dream of a future together with Max.

In season 4 of the show, which aired in 2022, the couple confirmed their breakup. Max admitted to Micah Plath, brother of Moriah, about his cheating. He said he was the one who ruined their relationship and gave an explanation for it. Max said:
"A friend of mine, he invited his lady friend over that I knew he liked. And so I was trying to be his wingman. And so I took things a little too far. I was just flirting with her, and that led her to think that it was OK to try and kiss me, which she did.”
Moriah moved to Tampa and after a couple of weeks, Max called her and admitted his mistake. She explained on the season 4 premiere of Welcome to Plathville about how heartbroken she is.
Moriah mentioned that she wasn’t going to go into details and that she had been in a dark place since then. She expressed that it hurt really bad, especially when she thought she found 'the one' and all these plans of forever were made, only for it to turn out not to be true.
Before the final confirmation of their breakup on the show. It was previously confirmed on February 20, 2022, when Max posted a video on YouTube in which he admitted that he had "crossed several boundaries" with another woman, which caused his relationship with Moriah to end.
