The Real Housewives of Potomac season 9 episode 3, which aired on October 20, 2024, showed that things were getting heated between the women when Ashley Darby and Karen Huger argued. Karen had planned a big event, but Ashley doubted her motives and honesty when she invited the group.
Ashley told Karen how the invitation to Karen's event had been sent out and accused her of not inviting her before, as Giselle had informed her. This argument started when Karen, Ashley, and Jassi were already having a rough time because Ashley felt left out of the group's transport plans.

The conversation became more personal when Karen brought up Ashley's DUI case from March 2024. She reminded Ashley that she could have hurt or killed someone during the incident.
Karen was glad that no one was hurt, but she thought about the Uber coupon Ashley had given her after the DUI and thought it was "shady." Tension rose even more when Karen said she would return the coupon so that Ashley could fix her bunions.
