Outlast season 2 premiere episode started with contestants being divided into four teams: Alpha, Beta, Charlie, and Delta camps. As fans know, these teams must survive harsh weather conditions in Alaska while hunting for necessities such as food, water, and shelter. Competing for the grand prize of one million dollars, each contestant's physical and mental limit will be tested.

At any point in the show, the survival competition participants can leave by "shooting a flare into the sky." This occurred in episode 2 when the Alpha camp contestant Bayo deceived his teammates Zack, Tonia, and Tre by starting a "war" with the Bravo camp. Initially, the Alpha camp wanted to form an alliance with the Bravo camp, but Bayo's move to "attack" immediately blindsided everyone else.

Tre made peace with the Bravo members, assuring them that Bayo didn't represent the Alpha's intention as a team. The Outlast contestant was given a condition to continue peace between the two teams. Bravo asked Alpha to remove Bayo, or they would not be able to trust them. Zack, Tonia, and Tre told Bayo he had to shoot the flare; hence, Bayo was the first to leave the competition.

The synopsis of Outlast season 2 episode 2, titled Hunger Pains', reads as the following:

"Three days in, some players break down and Jordan plays mind games. The teams must build rafts and beat the tide to reach crab traps on a nearby island."

In Outlast season 2, episode 2, the Alpha team was disappointed when Bayo returned with the stolen supplies from the Bravo camp. They wanted to know why Bayo had taken such a huge step without discussing it with them first. According to Bayo, the opportunity "presented itself," and he wanted to start the game as soon as possible.

Tre told Bayo that it was "too early" to attack another team when they were having difficulty gathering basic supplies. Zack said they had created an "enemy" when their team's focus should have been on securing their position in the game by strengthening themselves. Now that they have to constantly "watch their backs," it will be difficult to do so.

"I don't like that you s**t on the whole team right there and took matters into your own hands. We're gonna have to be watching out back now the whole time," Zack said.

During Tre's confessional interview, he opened up about Bayo's mistake and how that might cost them in the future. As per Tre, they had no idea what the "game board" looked like, so it was in their best interest to find an ally rather than make an enemy for no reason. Hence, Tre returned the Bravo team's supplies and came in peace.

"You started war way too early. It's not a good idea to start a war with the only people you can contact right now. We're barely keeping up with firewood, supplies, and food is at a very low minimum. So if we start a war with somebody, we have a big target on our head now and we can't protect ourselves," he said.
