Shark Tank season 16 aired a brand new episode this week this week. The segment saw four business owners make their pitches to the investors in hopes of securing a deal that would further their entrepreneurial dreams. The first product of the night was Coordinates, owned by former NFL star Aaron Ross and his wife and The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Sanya Richards Ross.
Together, the couple pitched their pajamas and loungewear line to the sharks in hopes of getting a deal of $100,000 for a 10% stake in their company. As the two explained, as athletes, they had their own "swag and flair" and knew that when they looked good, they played "good."
They said that they wanted to "continue winning as a family" for which, they needed to "coordinate." The entrepreneurs added that they created the company to elevate everyday moments into "lasting memories."
Coordinates' Shark Tank season 16 episode 7 pitch explored
In Shark Tank season 16 episode 7, Sanya and Aaron Ross explained their company, Coordinates to the sharks. Aaron said he loved when his family was coordinated and the reality star said that they wanted the shark to be "proud" to show up with their "crews" especially during the holiday season.
They said their Christmas collection put the "cool" in Christmas by bringing the "swag to Santa." Sanya Richards-Ross further stated that Coordinates was not just about the holidays and revealed that they had collaborated with others in the past.
They showcased their "Team USA" collection and asked their family to join in as they asked the sharks who wanted to coordinate with the "Coordinates." Mark Cuban recognized Aaron and asked the couple to tell them their story.
Sanya told the Shark Tank season 16 investors about her past with the Olympics and said that it was her dream come true. She said that she was currently a wife, mom, and an "entrepreneur working on the most important project" with her husband.
Raymond praised the quality of their products and asked about their concept. Sanya said that they wanted to help families match and coordinate. Robert Herjavec told the entrepreneurs that he already had invested in a pajama company, Tipsy Elves, and that he loved the "fun stuff." He asked about how consumers ordered their products.
The Shark Tank season 16 cast member said that they were online and explained that when they launched their Christmas collection the previous year, it sold out rather quickly. When Lori Greiner asked about their sales, Aaron said that it was "$25,000 in one month." He added that with their Team USA collection, they made $55,000.
The couple said that one set, specifically the ones they wore while on Shark Tank was for $89 costed $29 to make.
"Really not bad price at all," Lori stated.
Robert asked how they got the license for their Team USA collection and Sanya explained she got in touch with the USA Track & Field's CEO, who put her into with the USOC.
"And I charmed them like we're doing today," the RHOA star said.
The Shark Tank entrepreneurs further revealed they were the "exclusive pajama and loungewear" partners of Team USA "through '28." Robert praised them for being able to do that but was unclear about what their brand was. He stated that while invested in Tipsy Elves, he knew it was "just ugly Christmas sweaters" but that the brand was "fun."
"When I see this, what do you want me to think?," the shark asked.
Kevin O'Leary told the couple he was "really impressed" but said it was not his "space." Mr. Wonderful backed out and Mark Cuban followed suit. Lori Greiner noted she didn't know the clothing business but said it was Robert and Daymond's "thing."
Daymond also said he was out. Robert told them their story was "authentic" and told them creating an authentic brand was "super hard." He pointed out that the two didn't talk about the motivational words on their clothes and asked why that was not the brand. He added that the brand was "so confusing" to him that he was "torn."
He eventually made an offer and said he would give the Shark Tank entrepreneurs $100,000 for 25%. The two asked if he would do a $100,000 for 20% stake and before Robert answered, Daymond said he would be willing to accept that offer.
Robert also agreed to make a deal for 20% and the celebrity couple accepted his deal. The three hugged and cheered before Sanya and Aaron left the show.
