Season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way released a new episode on Monday, September 30, 2024. In episode 14, Reality Frights, Corona and Ingi contemplated the future of their relationship. While Ingi held a calm demeanor, satisfied with their pace, Corona feared she was stifling her dreams of becoming a midwife.
In the previous episode, Corona visited the only midwifery school in Iceland to discuss their eligibility criteria and admission requirements. After meeting with the director of the midwifery program, the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way cast member discovered that she not only had to master the Icelandic language but also had to wait at least a year and a half for the applications to open.
Corona confessed, her conversation with the director demotivated her and made her question her decision to move to Iceland without much planning. In the latest episode, she tried explaining her situation to Ingi but was frustrated when he showcased nonchalance, claiming things would eventually get better. It made her wonder if he even cared about her.
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Corona says her professional life would determine the future of her personal life
In the previous episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Corona sought advice for her career from a group of Black people who lived in Iceland. She wondered if her degree in midwifery from an Ivy League university would improve her chances of finding a job. All group members informed her that degrees would not change anything if she did not know their language, Icelandic.
It made Corona worry since she knew the basics of the language but not enough to communicate freely with any native. In episode 14, she detailed her situation to Ingi, expecting his help. However, his casual responses bothered the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star, who revealed becoming a midwife was one of her biggest goals in life.
While relaxing in a hot tub, Ingi inquired Corona about her meeting with the director.
"Basically she said I wouldn't be able to start; at best like a year and a half, but most likely, like, two and a half years, until I can start the program and I think she was stressing the importance of me needing to know the language," Corona said.
Ingi agreed that knowledge of the language was crucial but suggested it would not be an issue since she was already learning it. However, Corona disagreed, saying the situation was not as innocent as it seemed. She was worried that the stress would impact her mood, which in turn could affect Ingi's mood and their relationship.
Ingi disliked her perspective, saying,
"You're painting a pretty dark reality, here."
While speaking to the cameras, the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star said:
"I am really surprised that she would have to wait two and a half years, but like, then again, like, I think we haven't, like, explored all avenues. She just moved here. I still see a way that this can all work out."
He asked Corona if she would be interested in working at the hospital, doing "some other nurse stuff." Corona said she could do "other nurse stuff," but that was not what she specialized in or had a passion for. Even then, Ingi suggested it could be a part of her journey while she waited for her midwifery dreams to come true.
He tried to uplift her mood by stating "Good things happen slowly," but Corona disagreed. She revealed she was "running out of patience" and wanted to launch her career at the latest.
"There is a thin line between coming off very, like, chill and confident that things would work out and just not giving a damn. I don't need him to just tell me everything is gonna be okay," Corona said.
The 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star expected Ingi to help her take initiative in resolving the problem instead of reassuring her. She confessed there was no way she could be "happy and fulfilled in life" if she was not a midwife. She was disappointed that Ingi could not recognize its importance to her.
While speaking to the cameras, Corona admitted she was questioning her choices that led her to Iceland. She added that she seemed more invested in the relationship than Ingi. Feeling stuck in a difficult situation, Corona wondered what the future of their relationship would look like.
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way airs every Monday at 8 pm ET on TLC.
