Love Never Lies: South Africa released its finale on Friday, December 6, 2024. Titled, Time To Come Clean, the episode saw the couples reunite for one final lie-detector ceremony and discuss their relationship dynamics. Among them were Gontse and Munaka, whose relationship faced multiple challenges. However, in the finale, the couple accepted their mistakes and reconciled.
Earlier episodes showed Gontse calling his relationship with Munaka a "prolonged fling" and deepening his connection with Lihle. They also showcased Munaka sparking a connection with Jordan. With everything that had happened, Munaka and Gontse were unsure if they could reconcile or revive their relationship.
When the pair reunited at the lie detector ceremony, they quickly realized how much they had missed each other. However, their happiness was short-lived. Munaka's biggest fear came true when Gontse revealed he had been unfaithful to her. She struggled to process the news and started questioning her decision to be with him.
Finally, when the couples gathered for the winner's announcement, Gontse broke up with Munaka and asked her to be his girlfriend again. The Love Never Lies: South Africa star explained that he wanted to start over and this time be honest and upfront with his girlfriend. The couple also took the winner's title since they were the pair who had lied only once throughout the season.
"You're actually such a dog" — Love Never Lies: South Africa star Munaka slams Gontse for cheating on her
The episode began with Minnie questioning Gontse about infidelity. When he hesitated to give her an answer, Minnie said that his silence spoke volumes. Meanwhile, Munaka felt nervous about meeting him.
While talking to Lynn, she mentioned that she despised Gontse and felt disrespected by his intimate relationship with Lihle. However, while speaking to the cameras, the Love Never Lies: South Africa star said:
"I do love Gontse. Unfortunately."
Although Munaka was excited about seeing Gontse, she wondered if the infidelity speculations were true. With several doubts and questions, the Love Never Lies: South Africa star reunited with her partner for the final EyeDetect question.
Gontse was asked if he had committed any infidelity that Munaka did not know about, to which he replied, "Yes." EyeDetect confirmed Gontse's answer, disappointing Munaka.
"Such a dog. Like, you're actually such a dog," Munaka said.
When Gontse asked if they could talk about it, Munaka stated there was no point in a conversation when she knew she would never be with a "cheater." She was upset about it and unwilling to compromise.
Gontse reminded Munaka of one of their breakups where she had said "I'm gonna do what I want, you can do whatever you want" to explain when the infidelity happened.
Although Munaka confirmed her statement, she also mentioned that they had agreed to come clean and reveal if anything had happened every time they reconciled. As a result, she was disappointed that Gontse failed to "mention that one thing."
Meanwhile, Munaka was asked if Gontse was the right man for her and she answered yes. EyeDetect confirmed her statement, adding R30,000 to the prize pot. As soon as the Love Never Lies: South Africa couple left the ceremony, Munaka broke down and called Gontse "evil."
Later, during a one-on-one conversation, Gontse took accountability for his actions and apologized to Munaka. He admitted that it was selfish of him to keep the truth from her, despite knowing that Munaka had to seek therapy. However, Munaka remained unconvinced with his explanations. She deemed their relationship "toxic," and contemplated severing ties.
Towards the end of the episode, the six couples gathered to find out who lied the least throughout the experiment. Minnie crowned Munaka and Gontse the winner since they were the pair with only one lie. The Love Never Lies: South Africa couple celebrated as they won a R720,000 prize pot.
When Minnie inquired about their relationship status, Gontse said he wanted to break up and start "on a clean slate." He then asked Munaka to be his girlfriend again and she agreed.
"Tell the truth, guys. Learn from us," Munaka said.
