The December 22, 2024, episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, titled The Choice, focused on a major change in the relationship between Loren and Faith. The couple, recently engaged in the previous episode, faced a serious disagreement just one day after their proposal.
Their breakup stemmed from a discussion about their future and living arrangements, which ended with Faith deciding to end their engagement. The episode showed Loren and Faith consulting with a lawyer about their marriage options due to the legal restrictions in Faith’s home country, the Philippines.
They learned that they could marry in Taiwan or the United States, but Loren’s reluctance to leave the Philippines raised concerns for Faith. Later, while discussing their living plans, Loren’s behavior, including crushing beer cans and handling a bread knife, made Faith feel uncomfortable. She decided to return the engagement ring, saying:
“Sorry, and we’re done.”
Faith ends the engagement after a confrontation in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days
Loren and Faith discussed their future living arrangements and differences in their expectations in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Loren suggested they live with a friend after marriage, but how he behaved during the conversation made Faith uneasy.
Faith told him to stop, saying, “Why are you acting like this?” Loren replied, “This is normal for me.”
During their talk, Loren began crushing beer cans with his head, which Faith found disturbing. The situation escalated when Loren started poking his hand with a bread knife, ignoring Faith’s repeated requests for him to stop.
Faith expressed her discomfort, saying she felt his behavior was disrespectful and that it seemed “like a different person is in front of me.”
The discussion reached an endpoint when Faith returned her engagement ring to Loren, saying that she was sorry and they were done with this relationship. She later spoke to producers about how scared and uncomfortable she felt during the interaction.
“I thought today would be happy, but I’m scared. I’m not comfortable,” she said.
Faith explained that Loren’s behavior was not what she expected from someone she wanted to marry. Ultimately, Faith decided it was best to end the engagement and move on from their time together as a couple.
"Because we are trans and we don’t know who is the real one to accept us, you know, I’m shaking. I’m not expecting this," Faith said.
Previously on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Faith shared during a confessional on the November 17 episode that she did not want to stay in a relationship with someone who had cheated on her.
“If someone loves me, then he should be able to respect me.”
Legal and financial challenges faced by the couple in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days
Earlier in the episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Loren and Faith met with a lawyer to discuss their options for marriage. Since same-s*x marriage is not legally recognized in the Philippines, the lawyer explained that they could marry in Taiwan.
However, they were informed that the marriage would not be recognized as legal in the Philippines, meaning they could not seek a spousal visa for Loren.
The lawyer suggested that the United States would be a better option, as their marriage would be legal there for members of the LGBTQ+ community. However, Loren expressed concerns about leaving the Philippines.
“I don’t want to go back to Vegas. I don’t want to go back to my life,” Loren said.
The lawyer also suggested that Loren could sponsor Faith for a K-1 visa, allowing them to marry in the United States. Loren, however, admitted his financial struggles, stating:
“I could never afford to sponsor her.” Loren mentioned, but Faith later said, “I just need to know what the plan is. I can’t keep guessing.”
