Bravo premiered the tenth season of Southern Charm on December 5, 2024. During the second episode of the latest season which aired on December 12, Madison LeCroy shared the shocking news that her husband, Brett Randle, had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The revelation came towards the end of the previous year, coinciding with their one-year wedding anniversary.
“Unfortunately, Brett was diagnosed with thyroid cancer toward the end of last year, around our one year wedding anniversary. I thought, like, how? Like, I’m finally happy. I mean, it’s just scary,” stated Madison.
Madison's emotions were palpable as she discussed Brett's health struggles during a confessional on Southern Charm. She expressed her fear and concern, finding it difficult to comprehend the diagnosis.
Madison LeCroy exchanged vows with her husband, a firefighter, in an intimate ceremony in Mexico on November 19, 2022. They recently celebrated their second anniversary which marked a significant milestone in their relationship journey and Madison even stated that it was the "best decision" she ever made.
Southern Charm's Madison revealed Brett got a three-centimeter nodule removed
Later in the Southern Charm episode, Madison and Brett had a conversation about his health while she prepared breakfast with their son, Hudson. Brett reported feeling relatively well but mentioned that he needed to consult a specialist about a throat issue. He explained that his treatment would involve a two-stage process, including a visit to an ear, nose, and throat specialist, followed by therapy.
Brett described the sensation in his throat as sharp, likening it to having a marble stuck. His candid discussion about his health struggles provided a glimpse into the challenges the couple has been facing. However, when Brett suggested he would adapt to his condition, Madison was resolute in her determination to find a solution. She reassured him that they would find a way to address his health issues.
As Madison explained in a confessional, Brett still faces challenges in his recovery. She expressed gratitude that Brett was able to undergo a procedure, during which a three-centimeter nodule was removed, effectively eliminating the cancer. Nevertheless, Brett has since experienced complications, leaving Madison feeling frustrated and concerned that they cannot seem to overcome their challenges.
“I’m thankful that Brett was able to go in. They removed a three-centimeter nodule, so the cancer is gone but now he’s having complications. So I feel like we can’t catch a f*cking break,” stated Madison.
Madison LeCroy opened up about the difficult conversation she had with her 11-year-old son, Hudson, regarding Brett Randle's illness, who is Hudson's stepdad. When breaking the news to Hudson, Madison chose not to delve into the details of Brett's cancer diagnosis on Southern Charm, opting instead to focus on the fact that Brett was unwell.
As a mother, Madison explained that she strived to maintain a strong facade for the sake of her family, avoiding displays of emotion in front of Hudson. However, she confessed that it's not always easy to keep her emotions in check. Certain triggers, such as people inquiring about her plans for having another child, can be overwhelming.
Madison and Brett had begun making plans for a child, but those plans have been put on hold for the time being.
“Some days I just want to like scream. It can be anything that triggers me, whether that be someone saying, ‘When are you having a child?’ I mean, we were just starting to plan, but that’s on pause for now," Madison stated.
The Southern Charm star revealed to Us Weekly at Bravo Fan Fest on November 23 that she and Brett were actively trying to have a baby. Madison also revealed Hudson had also given his seal of approval for a new addition to the family.
She revealed that Hudson granted her "permission to have another sibling" for him, telling her that she could now have a baby. Madison was amused by her son's assertion, acknowledging that she had been waiting for his approval.
