One of the couples who managed to survive the pods and the honeymoon phase was Marissa and Ramses. Despite starting with a love triangle and Marissa's mother grilling Ramses at a family dinner, they agreed to stick it out. Episode 11 ended in a cliffhanger with Ramses expressing his concerns regarding his second marriage.
Marissa asked Ramses to follow his heart and give in to the experiment of Love Is Blind head-on. Ramses didn't give a clear explanation about his thought process and chose to end things with Marissa, ultimately not going through with the wedding.
The journey of Ramses and Marissa in Love is Blind season 7 explored
Ramses and Marissa arrived with a varying background and as mentioned before, were entangled in a love triangle. Ramses feared that Bohdan would be able to win Marissa's heart as they were ex-military. Unsure at first, Marissa went on dates with both men but ultimately decided to pick Ramses as she was tired of being in a relationship with hypermasculine men who later left her.
Ramses presented himself as a man in touch with emotions who had progressive thoughts regarding patriarchy and society in general. After amicably saying goodbye to Bohdan, Marissa connected even further with Ramses as he wrote a letter to her confessing his love for her.
“I’ve never laid eyes on you, but I find you to be so extraordinarily beautiful,” wrote Ramses.
Marissa decided to accept Ramses' proposal and met him face-to-face for the first time. In between, Ramses also brought up the topic of his previous failed marriage which didn't bother Marissa. The couple jetted off to Mexico for the honeymoon along with other Love Is Blind couples.
Tensions flared up soon after the honeymoon phase as the couple engaged in difficult conversations. Although the couple agreed on a not-so-lavish wedding, they butted heads on the topic of military, religion, and other things. Marissa, a military veteran was surprised to hear her partner's thoughts when he claimed that the relationship would be over if she ever decided to reenlist.
The conversation continued as Marissa introduced her friends to Ramses on Love Is Blind. Her friends were also military veterans and shared their concerns regarding the mismatch in their thought processes. Marissa clarified that she did not plan to enlist again but respected the individuals who risked their lives for the country.
The couple agreed to disagree and moved on as Marissa introduced her family to Ramses. Things got tough for the latter as Marissa's mother, Vanessa, was outspoken about a lot of issues in their newfound relationship. She pointed out his seemingly outdated fashion and lack of financial wealth as key points that her daughter should mull over.
When Marissa excused herself to use the washroom, Vanessa even warned Ramses if he ever took the wrong step in their relationship.
Later, Marissa again was surprised to hear Ramses' thoughts about birth control but still decided to continue with their wedding plans. She went to try her wedding dresses and was accompanied by her mother who seemed to have changed her mind regarding their relationship.
During the conclusion of Love Is Blind episode 11, Ramses stated his desire to end their relationship. He explained that after living together in a single apartment, he was sure about not wanting to get married again.
The finale episode 12 picked up from their conversation where Marissa pleaded with Ramses to stick around till the end of the experiment. However, he expressed concern about their future together and concluded that love alone won't be enough for the two.
"After being married and just seeing other marriages and hearing from other married people, like... I just don't think love alone is enough. I think there needs to be other things that are also working," said Ramses.
Marissa disheartened by Ramses' actions stated her disbelief and expressed that they already had this conversation in the jacuzzi. Ramses again explained that he didn't want to be led by his emotions and make the same mistake he made during his first marriage. He brought up that their energies do not seem to match and could become a point of conflict in the future, which worried him.
"You've already made up your mind. You already know I'm too much to live with. You can't see beyond that," concluded Marissa.
Marissa gave Ramses a hug and asked him again on Love Is Blind if he was sure about his decision, the latter apologized. A sobbing Marissa called her mom to seek comfort as she threw the engagement ring on the ground.
