Netflix's Selling Sunset season 8 is set to premiere exclusively on the streaming giant on September 6, 2024. The show has been one of the most hit real estate shows in Netflix's reality universe since its premiere in March 2019. Selling Sunset has seen multiple feuds and beefs between the real estate agents at the Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles, California.
The upcoming season will also highlight some of the drama from the previous seasons, including the feud between Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young. The two real estate agents got into multiple arguments in the previous seasons of the show, especially season 7.
Initially, the feud between Chrishell and Nicole started after they worked on a deal together. However, things escalated soon after, with the two making accusations of fake behavior and drama about each other. The two real estate agents also got into an argument at a party for Chelsea Lazkani's 30th birthday.
Chrishell accused Nicole of creating drama to get more on-screen time. Meanwhile, Nicole claimed that Chrishell was getting benefits because she was dating the boss, Jason Oppenheim. Jason is one of the owners of The Oppenheim Group, and he and Chrishell were in a relationship for around seven months in 2021.
In an attempt to take control of the narrative, Chrishell Stause posted to Instagram in May 2023 and shared screenshots of her conversation with her Selling Sunset co-star. In the caption, she wrote:
"This post goes out to those who love facts."
The Stause - Young feud on Selling Sunset
The feud between Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young became more heated after Selling Sunset season 6 when agents went on a trip to Palm Springs. In episode 7, Nicole Young implied that the reason Chrishell was doing well as a real estate agent was due to her relationship with Jason Oppenheim, leaving Chrishell upset.
Later, in the same episode, Stause made a comment implying that Young was under the influence of drugs and that she was a regular user. Chrishell's statements offended Nicole, who underwent a drug test to prove that she didn't use drugs.
Stause had previously shared on Instagram that she and Nicole were on good terms before they started filming Selling Sunset. In the post shared in May 2023, Chrishell added screenshots of her conversation with Nicole, where the latter asked her for advice as a new cast member.
However, Stause later claimed that Nicole wanted to be the focus of the show, which was why she started a fake feud with her Selling Sunset co-star. Chrishell implied that Nicole's intention to start the beef was just to get more camera time.
In an interview with Tudum by Netflix on June 21, 2023, Stause shared she never intended to start drama. She said that she was tired and didn't "want to cause drama or have any drama" in her life.
“But if you keep bringing it to my table, then, yes, now we’re going to eat. How do I act when I’ve kind of hit the end of my rope? Well, there you go,” she said.
The beef between Nicole and Chrishell wasn't resolved on season 7 of the show and might continue even in the upcoming season. However, there is also a chance that the two will reach a resolution if they are willing to leave the past behind.
The drama has caused some issues among the other women of The Oppenheim Group and affected the dynamics of the Selling Sunset cast members.
Fans can stream the previous seasons of Selling Sunset to see Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young's journey on the show. Season 8 is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on September 6, 2024, and will see the release of all 11 episodes on the same day.
