Love is Blind: UK released episodes 10 and 11 on Netflix on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. The final six couples were left with a bittersweet feeling as the experiment that helped them find each other ended. However, they still had to make one final decision before their journey on the show ultimately concluded.

Having analyzed their relationships, the couples had to decide whether they wanted to get married to their significant others. Sabrina and Steven, Benaiah and Nicole, and Bobby and Jasmine tied the knot and vowed to spend the rest of their lives together. However, not every couple received a fairytale ending.

Tom decided against marrying Maria in episode 10, surprising the latter at the altar. While Maria looked forward to becoming Tom's wife and starting a new chapter, Tom felt uncertain about his relationship with the Love is Blind: UK cast member.

Since they were raised differently, they grew up with ideas that were opposing to each other's. They harbored conflicting perspectives regarding the roles of a man and a woman. They also disagreed on the management of finances. While Maria claimed it was the man's responsibility, Tom believed differently.

Since their value clashed, Tom decided to walk away from the marriage.

Tom felt unsure about marrying his Love is Blind: UK partner Maria

During the bachelor party, Tom confided in Freddie about hesitating to proceed with the marriage. He explained that although he cherished Maria and harbored genuine feelings for her, he feared taking the "final leap of faith" and marrying her. He wondered what the future had in store for them.

As Maria arrived at the wedding venue, she exclaimed she was "very excited." She stated that marriage meant "commitment" and unconditional love to her and that she could not have found anyone better than Tom to start the new chapter with. While speaking about him, the Love is Blind: UK star said:

"I think Tom would be an amazing husband. I know I'd always feel safe with him. I'd always feel secure with him. He's literally my best friend and my fiance in one."

On the other hand, while speaking to the cameras, Tom confessed he had a lot going through his mind the previous night. He felt nervous as he arrived at the venue. The Love is Blind: UK couple's journey was not without hiccups. They had conflicting ideologies that often caused tension between them. Tom knew they had to overcome the "challenges" to imagine a future together.

Previously, Tom was critical of Maria's profession as a makeup artist. He also disapproved of her perspective that men should bear the finances in a relationship. Furthermore, the absence of his mother on his wedding day added to his worries. The Love is Blind: UK star wondered if those issues would cause problems in the future.

"Before coming on this experiment, I had a pretty clear idea of what marriage meant to me, and it's about making a lifelong commitment to somebody that you love. I just need to make sure that I'm making the right commitment to the right person," mentioned Tom.

While Maria was getting dressed, she claimed there was "no about" she was coming out of the experiment with Tom. She wished he was by her side because he was her "comfort blanket." Meanwhile, Maria's mother, Fatima, approached Tom and reassured him that she would care for him like her son.

The Love is Blind: UK couple felt the tension rising as they stood at the altar. While reading his vows, Tom thanked Maria for loving him unconditionally and being his "rock." However, when the marriage officiant asked if he accepted Maria as his legally wedded wife, he said:

"I love you. I just feel like right now is not the right time for me. We've had some differences in values and I haven't had enough time to really understand how those differences will affect our life day-to-day."

He kissed her hand and walked away as Maria stood with tears in her eyes. During her confessional, she admitted she "wanted to get married" and become a wife. She felt "incredibly sad" she could not achieve the ending she had pictured for herself.

On the other hand, Tom confessed that their conflicting ideologies regarding the roles of a man and a woman would have affected their relationship when they become parents in future. He added they did not have the time to discuss those points in detail.

A disappointed Maria confessed Tom's decision hurt her as she packed her wedding dress and drove away from the wedding venue.
